Job description

As Manager Finance & Control your primary focus will be on managing and optimizing our financial processes in its broadest sense. You will play a crucial role in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance. Your responsibilities will span financial management, reporting, analysis, compliance, risk management and strategic planning. You will be part of our Corporate Support team, which consists of a Business Controller, Junior Controller, Indirect Tax Manager, Legal Counsel, and you will be the right hand of our CFO.

More specifically, these responsibilities include:
  • Prepare budgeting, forecasting, and periodic financial reporting and close;
  • In the lead of preparing the financial statements and related audits;
  • Support the organization in preparing for CSRD reporting;
  • Improve accounting and reporting systems, including relevant control procedures.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to support strategic decision-making;
  • Integration of the ERP system into the key processes;
  • Provide insights into key financial metrics, trends, and variances;
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements;
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks;
  • Lead and mentor the junior financial controller and growing team;
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to streamline financial processes;
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategies;
  • Contribute to the development of long-term financial plans.

Your profile

The position requires a hands-on mentality with your financial background and experience, you will collaborate closely with all departments. Being someone with a broad and in-depth knowledge, you always are on the outlook for improvement of financial standards and procedures within our department and/or organization. On top of it, you have:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or other relevant studies;
  • Proven experience as a (Financial) Controller or similar role in a startup/scaleup environment and/or background in Accountancy and Audit;
  • Experience in a private equity environment is advantageous;
  • Interest in and understanding of the energy markets;
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail;
  • Leadership and team management experience is a plus;
  • Good communication skills to effectively convey financial insights to non-financial stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • You are empathic, patient, and able to adapt to various situations;
  • Proficient in English and Dutch (written and spoken).

  • Salary ranging from €6000 to €7500 per month, based on experience plus 8% holiday allowance paid monthly.
