About the Team

Lead an experienced, talented team with a focus on Demand Generation. You will also marshal and align team members with separate reporting lines including communications, digital, content and customer advocacy.

About the Role

Workday is looking for a Sr Marketing Director to lead the company’s marketing efforts across the Nordics, Benelux and South Africa. This senior position is an excellent opportunity to lead at a fast-growing, US-based software company that is rapidly growing in the region.

In this role, you will work closely with the other members of the Marketing, Sales and Professional Services teams to build brand awareness and pipeline for the business. You will be leading a team of dedicated marketing professionals across the region, ensuring we exceed our growth targets and bring ever more focus to our execution. This position will be a key part of the regional management team and the EMEA marketing leadership team.

Responsibilities include:

 
  • Develop annual marketing plans for the region crafted to drive brand recognition and build pipeline for Workday’s core solutions.

  • Be a trusted advisor to the local management teams, aligning with the sales team on regular basis to drive planning and execution and ensuring timely and open communication channels.

  • Ensure flawless execution across all planned marketing activities, marshaling the key team members to drive successful outcomes for the business.

  • Identify audience and industry segmentation strategy; vehicle and media mix recommendation, timing and forecast of results.

  • Drive integrated marketing campaigns from inception to optimization with a cross-functional corporate marketing team based in EMEA and the US. This will include demand generation, brand awareness, events, field marketing, web/online marketing, communications and creative services.

  • Work with appropriate groups (product marketing, sales, operations and strategy) to develop appropriate messaging platforms, content, and stories from which to build campaigns

  • Manage and develop the local marketing teams.

  • Analyze campaign performance and make recommendations for optimization and future improvements

  • Assess and execute on partner marketing opportunities.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • Leading marketing in a high growth, leading, cloud-native SaaS company as the Nordics and/or Benelux marketing leader, OR has done this and currently leads field marketing for another region

  • 12+ years of successful marketing experience in a SaaS, enterprise software, cloud environment

  • A demonstrable track record of team building, and leadership at Director and Sr Director level

  • Knowledge of the local B2B enterprise software market, preferably within HR and/or Financial applications

Other Qualifications

  • Willing to travel within EMEA and to HQ in the USA occasionally

  • A business degree or equivalent

  • Strategically-minded but willing to be very hands on to get programs implemented

  • Consistent record in effectively executing integrated, streamlined marketing programs that drive pipeline, including industry specific campaigns

  • Able to craft Workday’s messaging to be directly relevant to local audiences

  • Able to articulate importance of customer voice throughout the marketing mix

  • Proven record of implementing extraordinary, creative events as part of an overall Demand Plan

  • Ability to work with people at all levels of an organization including executive management, sales, and marketing

  • Lead with vision on new thinking in marketing, with a passion for public speaking

  • Understanding of how to engage C-Level audiences

  • Ability to implement effective Social Media programmes in a B2B context
