JOB PURPOSE

As Senior Product Owner Value Creation & Discovery you will be responsible for driving continuous innovation within our consumer products to deliver best-in-class customer experiences and improve customer engagement with our TV & Entertainment propositions.

Within this role you will be expected to work with commercial, content and product stakeholders within our country operations and central teams to gather needs, opportunities, demand and underlying requirements related to the introduction of new and the improvement of existing Entertainment customer value propositions and experiences.

This includes experiences such as watching TV in home and on-the-go, using streaming apps, audio & music, providing access to games, discovering new content, having access to personalized experiences, and ensuring availability of integrated service offers meeting the needs of our customers for Entertainment.

The Senior Product Owner is expected to work across all these partners to establish aligned views on the underlying business value, business requirements and target experience to ensure scale and efficiency during implementation. The Senior Product Owner is responsible for maintaining oversight of the relative priorities within the demand to secure a prioritized backlog whilst working with our strategic technology and content partners to drive continues delivery of value-creating changes within the Entertainment platform.

The Senior Product Owner works closely with central Quality & CEX teams and the country stakeholders to gain and respond to Voice of the Customer feedback with the objective of enhancing the value delivered within the CVP and improve engagement.

Within the Value Creation & Discovery team it is expected to work with central strategy and country teams to research, run and maintain a multi-year roadmap reflecting identified and future CVP’s, value-creating services related or affiliated to Entertainment, initiatives and arguments supporting or contributing to long range financial plans and marking technology waves enabling strategic pivots.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead in the expertise field of entertainment for setting the priorities on our investments, scope and defined business requirements for the future
  • Lead and prioritize budget for respective business area throughout our group, in close interworking with our operating markets and key senior stakeholders
  • Ability to set and define our next generation strategy for Liberty Global and our markets to guide them into the next wave of developments for the entertainment domain
  • Translate the company’s customer value proposition(s) for Entertainment into meaningful, industry-leading experiences, propositions & solutions that delight our customers and fit our ‘Tomorrow’s Connections Today’ mantra
  • Ensure complete bring together of customer, commercial and financial needs and objectives within operating markets related to Entertainment. Write and maintain product concept and requirements documentation
  • Ensure continuous review of business value and priority setting for changes and enablers within Entertainment platform
  • Ensure cost and delivery efficiencies through finding opportunities to scale business requirements across markets
  • Work with central strategy, finance and customer experience teams to identify and bring forward opportunities and reasons to increase value and improve engagement related or affiliated to Entertainment experiences
  • Secure a trusted and reliable interface towards country collaborators, strategic technology and content partners on roadmap planning, feature release priorities, platform improvements, customer, and user experience changes and CVP activation
  • Ensure activation of strategic, financial, and commercial enablers and objectives for the company and its ecosystem within platform roadmap and feature releases
  • Integrate service performance and quality requirements according to quality-by-design principles to enable monitoring and management of service level agreements and product performance metrics
  • Work with strategic technology partners and central technology teams to enable and unlock opportunities to increase customer value within the platform
  • Apply a fact-based and data-led decision-process on product ownership and development
  • Be pro-active, pragmatic, instigate improvements, encourage standard processes across markets and apply practical innovation with the objective to drive product and thought leadership

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Extensive experience of making things work better with technology
  • Proven track record to guide and shape employee experience using technology as a critical enabler
  • C-Suite experience with selling a vision is critical. This means understanding big and small picture, ability to articulate and sell a vision and drive to achieve it
  • Ability to be credible at all levels of the organization. Our partners and opinion formers are at every level of the organization and it is critical that we listen to them all
  • Proven experience simplifying enhancing service experiences for customers

DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate an End-User
  • Service vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with the Tech and business strategy
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources required for success may not be in direct control of this role
  • First-rate strategic perception and insight must be complemented by the problem solving skills necessary to drive tactical implementation
  • Innovative and creative, able to bring new thinking to the organisation and our partners
  • Able to spot market trends, opportunities and threats
  • Excellent interpersonal skills will be needed in order to build strong, cooperative internal and external relationships across all levels and geographies
  • Great listener able to understand the other persons perspectives and needs, enabling strong partnerships
  • Strong written and oral communication necessary to evangelise with internal collaborators and external partners and develop early stage strategic plans
  • Highly self-motivated and objective driven individual continuously keeping the end goal in mind
  • Capable of standing up for their values and objectives whilst selling or developing their ambitions
  • Adaptable with the ability to successfully deal with and sort through ambiguity
  • Organised and professional approach to work with enough flexibility to pivot when change is required

PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong academics demonstrating intellectual curiosity and problem solving in complex environments
  • Degree in engineering, IT, maths, business or other subject showing strong analytical capabilities
  • Ideally a Masters or further qualification in relevant area
