Besides that we are expanding our test facilities to perform environmental qualification testing in-house for our customers and to support investigations into service problems and endurance issues.GKN-Fokker Elmo Engineering performed and is performing EWIS design and development projects, such as amongst others the F-35 Lightning II (JSF), A220, A320NEO, A330NEO, Boeing 787, Aerion AS2, (Hybrid) Electrical aircraft, Urban Air Mobility (UAM) aircraft and numerous aircraft engine programs, such as for instance for all the P&WC Geared TurboFan engine applications (A220, A320NEO, Irkut MC-21, Gulfstream G500/ 600, Dassault F6X, Embraer 170E2/ 190E2, etc.).FunctieAs an EWIS Components assemblies and Testing engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the of design, development and validation & verification activities on Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) Components and Constructions (components assemblies). This may involve activities in performing trade-off studies, advice on selection of Components, Component and Construction qualification, writing technical reports and working together with our Senior Design Engineers. In this respect you are involved in the creation of test plans, test samples and the execution of testing in our in-house facility and reporting.Currently we are expanding our knowledge is the area of high voltage/ high power EWIS for (hybrid) electric aircraft applications. You will report to the Engineering Team Lead (ETL) of the EWIS Components & Electronics (ECE) design group within Engineering. This group consists of 20-25 (Senior) Engineers. The place of work will at the GKN-Fokker Elmo Head Quarters in Papendrecht, The Netherlands.To make sure your future job is the start of a promising career, it’s important that you’re interested the following qualifications for this position:• Working on different aircraft projects;• Aerospace Components (Parts and Materials) specifications;• EWIS (mechanical) construction design;• High voltage/ high power EWIS design incl. multiphysics;• EWIS Components- and Construction Validation & Verification processes;• EWIS environmental testing;• Root cause analysis/ customer technical issue solving;• Design processes and methods/standards;• Configuration management process.Functie-eisenHard skills• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical or ElectricalEngineering or a similar subject field; or an equivalent level obtained through appropriatework experience;• Communication: Fluent English in speech and writing, ability to communicate clearly and concisely (including technical reports) with flair and forthcomingness.
