About the team

As Finance Director Technology & Product Development, you will be joining the global */dxg Finance team. Our goal is rather straightforward: we take care of the Planning & Controlling for the Tech division across Wolters Kluwer. The impact on the organization is tangible: we provide insights that enable our colleagues to offer the right guidance and targets for the business, and drive innovation and change in different domains of the company. All our Finance teams are filled with smart, high-performing finance professionals who enjoy pioneering and taking ownership of their work.

 

Your Impact

You will have the opportunity to shape and enhance the efficiency of our budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting processes, crafting a visionary 3-year strategic plan and financial modeling. Reporting directly to the */dxg CFO, you will lead a team dedicated to supporting customer facing Product Technology and Development, contributing significantly to our organization's growth and success.

In addition, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Advisory : Provide valuable advice to the */dxg executive leadership on opportunities and risks that impact business performance.

  • Team Leadership : Lead, develop, and mentor a global team of professionals, guiding them towards individual and team success.

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of the annual three-year strategic plan, along with supporting strategic and tactical plans.

  • Collaborative Forecasting: Collaborate across the Division organization to develop comprehensive and accurate financial forecasts for Technology and Development expenses, meeting the reporting and decision-making needs of the group.

  • Allocations: Maintain and improve a standardize and transparent allocation model which provides actionable information for Tech and Business Leaders.

  • Liaison with Shared Services : Act as the primary financial liaison with the Global Business Services (shared service) organization, understanding allocated Technology, Development, and Support costs.

  • Proactive Insight : Alert the */dxg and divisional executive team and managers to trends in the financial performance of the business, suggesting necessary actions.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous process improvement and best practices, reducing finance business process cycle times, improving financial forecast quality, and enhancing information provided to */dxg leadership for informed business decisions.

  • KPI Evolution : Evolve the */dxg Division KPIs and metric tracking to more effectively manage the business.

What are we looking for?

You are a successful financial business partner and organization leader, experienced in successfully leading and developing a high performing, finance organization . You are forward thinking and proactive in identifying business issues and opportunities , developing plans of action and executing on those plans.

Cross-Functional Collaboration with geographically dispersed, virtual teams is known to you, as well as effectively communicating at various leadership levels, including executive management. Effective Reporting , proficiency in accurately summarizing analyses for executive presentations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration/Finance/Economics, combined with at least 15+ years of work experience in Finance.

  • Experience as Business Partner to Tech departments in an international matrix environment is required.

  • Have a post-master degree (RA, RC, RE, RO)

  • Track record in change management and transformations

  • Experience supporting Technology and Development organizations, preferably in a Cloud environment

  • Experience in developing a view on the IT tools supporting Finance.
