(Senior) Risk Manager Sanctions

Are you the Risk manager who is the subject matter expert in AML/CTF risk or Operational Risk? Would you like to apply your knowledge to determine the risk the Sanctions department faces and determines the mitigating measures? Do you want to assist the Sanctions department in taking a risk based approach and enhance their execution power?

You and your job
In this fast paced and changing environment you design and monitor the risk and control framework for Sanctions. You identify risks and mitigating measures based on e2e processes. You translate outcomes of reports from e.g. audit, FLM, SLM, consultants and industry leaders into actions for the Sanctions department. You perform the Risk Identification, Assessment and Response (RIAR) and are in charge of Finding and Action Management and Incident Management. You help the Management Team of Sanctions and the Control Standards Team to take a risk based approach and help them enhance their execution power.

The Risk Management team, part of the Control Standards in Sanctions, is responsible for design and management of Sanctions risk and control framework; you do this through applying your deep knowledge of regulatory requirements. You and your talent
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant area
• Ability to work at senior level and to communicate and report effectively to senior management;
• Challenge control and process owners;
• Strong subject matter expertise in Operational Risk Management, Compliance and/or AML/CTF;
• You are a connector, you know how to easily build a network within the FEC/ Sanctions domain through your natural impact, knowledge and experience;
• You are positive and able to involve and motivate stakeholders at every level in the focus area (compliance) risk management;
• You have sufficient conceptual insight into the FEC/Sanctions focus area and the associated / appropriate risk policy, risk management, methods and techniques;
• You are driven to keep your knowledge up to date with new developments in the industry;
• Clearly demonstrates and takes ownership;
• flexibility and ability to adapt and deliver in a fast paced and changing environment;
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in both English and Dutch.

Average working day
In the dynamic FEC domain, no working day is the same! You follow current events and determine the impact on the Sanctions risk profile with colleagues. You analyse reports and other information for the required sharpness and depth. And translate them into opportunities for improvement. About which you advise and report to relevant colleagues within Sanctions. This can be as part of the periodic risk management activities or ad hoc. It is important to know that the team and the risk management tools are under construction. And as a Risk Manager Sanctions you can therefore also make an important contribution to the further development and professionalization of this.

This is what we offer you
• Scale 9 or 10, depending on your knowledge and experience. With a maximum of € 6.926.
• thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance
• an extra budget of 11% of your gross monthly salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out.
• a combination of working from home and at the office (hybrid)
