Head of Transaction & Position Management

Job Description


For our office in Amsterdam we are looking for a talented manager to lead the Transaction and Position Management (TPM) team in the Customers department of BA Markets.

Within Business Unit Customers, the TPM team is responsible for the management of the operational commodity sales portfolio’s for Dutch and UK Power and for Dutch, German and French Gas. The TPM team also assist and supports on complex originated transactions.The team acts as the interface between Trading and Customer & Solutions. Key activities are commodity price quoting toSales, processing of contracted sales and sourcing positions to the respective trade desks and calculating the financial settlementsbetween Trading and Sales based on the stored contract data and the received offtake data.

In addition, the team manages the volume allocation data of the Vattenfall assets and PPA contracts.TPM has a central place in the value chain and therefore has interfaces with many departments within the Vattenfall Group – the different Sales Units, Trading Desks, Pricing & valuationTeams, Risk Analysis and Reporting, Finance Groups and IT. The team operates in a dynamic environment and flexibility and personal initiative is expected from all team members.

What will you do?

As Head of TPM you will lead and manage the operational sales commodity portfolio’s of Business Area Customer and Solutions.

  • Assist and support on originated and complex transactions within the own business unit.
  • Active customer management to continuously improve the existing products interface E2E.
  • Align implementation of new products.
  • Manage the market data more efficient and effective and prepare for upcoming market data changes
  • Manage and maintain the product and service changes in formal product agreements.
  • Swiftly deal with high impact and operational risks and take pro-active mitigation actions
  • Manage a team of 15 professionals located in Amsterdam and Hamburg

Qualifications


Who are you?

As a successful Head of TPM your work is defined by initiative and taking a proactive approach. You are performance-driven with a cooperative and team-oriented working style.

Besides that, you convince with the following skills and competencies:

  • University degree or comparable education with strong affinity on handling data or energy topics
  • Strong people management and stakeholder management skills
  • 5+ years’ experience in the Energy sector, preferably in the area of Energy Trading, Asset Management or Position Management
  • Proven knowledge of the international energy market, energy sourcing and/or Development.
  • Structured approach and accurate way of working with a close attention for detail, even ina busy and dynamic environment
  • A strong sense of responsibility for your work and its accuracy and efficiency
  • Stress-resistant and being able to cope with multiple requests/issues at the same time
  • Fluent in English, preferably also proficient in German or Dutch.
