Senior Data Privacy Specialist

Privacy plays a key role in Rabobank's reputation as a reliable bank and employer. At the same time we are looking for ways to even become more data driven. In this role you ensure that being data driven includes efficiently managing data privacy with professional discipline. You are part of the mission to change and improve the way-of-working of data privacy, by making it more efficient and to facilitate privacy compliant use of data whilst at the same time support the bank's data driven business opportunities. You are key in implementing impactful privacy projects across Rabobank.

You and your job

As a senior data privacy specialist, you are the person who is driving the implementation of group-wide privacy projects. As the world of privacy is changing significantly, we need to improve oversight and support domains in execution and build awareness for data privacy throughout the bank. Issues such as tooling and global implementation of the privacy framework must be resolved group wide. You promote the value of privacy, and you focus on continuous improvement of data privacy.

You are part of the 1st line Privacy Center of Excellence (Privacy CoE), a new team that is part of the Data Management Office in the Tribe Data & Analytics. This team is managing the foundation of the Privacy Management Framework: processes, procedures, tooling, and management information. Our focus is on implementing and improving global privacy projects.

Practical Examples

In the short history of the Privacy CoE we’ve realized important projects:

  • We took over business ownership of Debra (application for reporting Databreaches), made Debra BCBS239 compliant, and realized significant improvements in the process and reporting ability
  • We launched the Global Data Protection Dashboard, and are still expanding and improving its functionality, together with stakeholders within the business
  • We have redesigned the Privacy Framework as the basis for increasing Privacy Maturity and selected a preferred future tooling solution which will be best fit-for-purpose
  • We brought both Schrems II and Record Keeping from a project-modus to Business as Usual, taking ownership of processes and monitoring
  • We took over the Path-to-Green monitoring and transformed it to a permanent monitoring on our highest risks, reporting to the Data Protection Committee

Top 3 responsibilities

In this role within the Privacy CoE you will be a hands-on Data Privacy Specialist focused on change and improvement, funded by good knowledge of Privacy practise. Your top 3 responsibilities will be:

  • Manage and redesign Privacy Management processes (such as Privacy by Design, Data Privacy Impact Assessments, Databreachmanagement). Including the preparation and implementation of new Privacy Management tooling
  • Identifying areas where significant impact is needed and working towards implementing the changes required to deliver that impact being a change-leader in taking along stakeholders across the company,
  • Monitoring group-wide privacy risk profile and closely follow developments in the market and legislation

Together we achieve more than alone
Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. You become part of a relatively new department with highly educated motivated professionals. The joint mission: being the authority in the field of data and privacy management and leading the way to a data-driven bank.

“What I enjoy most in working at the Privacy CoE, is the diversity of privacy topics where we lead the bank to better protect the data of our clients. We are involved with various impactful programs across the bank, such as Schrems II. A dynamic role in a fun team with plenty of room for a self-starter and entrepreneurial individual to shape our ambition to become a data driven bank that excels in protecting the data of our clients.” - Cindy, data privacy specialist
