Accounts Payable Specialist (32-40 hours a week)

The Accounts Payable Specialist is a member of the accounting team which operates as a subset of the Finance & Control Department. The department is primarily responsible for handling the accounting, reporting and controlling matters related to Triodos Investment Management (Triodos IM) and the investment funds it manages.

The position Accounts Payable Specialist covers a wide range of tasks and responsibilities. Your primary focus will be on processing invoices and supervising the full invoice payment and bank allocations cycle for Triodos Investment Management and the investment funds under management.

In this position you will have the opportunity to be active in one of the front runner asset managers in sustainable investments. Impact investing requires thorough analysis, vision and dedication. Within the Finance & Control department specifically and Triodos IM in general, you will have the opportunity - in line with your ambition - to continuously develop your personal skills.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Being the first point of contact for invoice related questions, hands on invoice authorization and processing of payments as well as allocation of bank transactions
  • Providing guidance to junior team members for correct postings to the general ledger
  • Providing guidance for correct VAT entries
  • Dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Responsible for keeping a track record and overview of tasks performed and tasks requiring attention. You will be responsible for the maintenance of an ad hoc dashboard be performed and report on a timely basis to the Head of Accounting
  • Responsible for the preparation and update of working manuals regarding the processes mentioned above
  • Being able to understand and follow procedures in order to be compliant with the internal control framework and being able to provide with evidence and explanation with regards to audit (both internal and external)
  • Responsible for managing the invoice related mailbox

Profiel

The position requires

  • A relevant accounting or bookkeeping degree, preferably HBO-Bachelor level
  • A minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience in a similar (administrative & reporting) role (within the financial services industry is a pre)
  • Knowledge of and experience with accounting software (Exact, FrontInvest would be an advantage)
  • Good communication skills coupled with the ability to liaise with people internationally, through spoken and written channels and at all levels in English and preferably also Dutch
  • Applicants must be nationals of a European member state or have a valid work permit for the EU
