Job Description & Summary

PwC’s Risk and Regulation (“R&R”) team provides consulting services to both the financial sector and non-financial corporations. We have a multidisciplinary team with backgrounds varying from accounting, finance and financial law to econometrics and physics. This creates interesting positions for risk and regulatory professionals acting as advisors to create advantage with a strategic approach to risk and regulatory issues.

We are expanding our practice and looking for an experienced risk professional. As part of the R&R team, you will be focused on advising clients on complex risk and regulatory matters.

What you will be doing

As a Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and regulatory experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. We support clients in identifying, understanding and managing risk and help ensure an appropriate balance between risks and opportunities. Additional responsibilities include the following areas:

  • Managing the projects related to assessing risk management frameworks against regulatory requirements and good market practices and advising clients on how to improve these;

  • Advising clients on steering the management of credit risk, market risk, interest rate risk (IRRBB), liquidity risk or ESG-related risks as well as contributing to broader subjects such as ICAAP, ILAAP, recovery & resolution planning, and the transformation and digitalization of Risk to become ‘fit for future’;

  • Advising clients on the interaction with local and European supervisory authorities and supporting them in responding to supervisory requests and preparing communication to supervisors;

  • Help clients identify the possible impact of the current and future regulatory standards within the EU (e.g. Capital Requirements Regulation, new Basel IV standards) on their business model, strategy, governance and processes as well as conduct qualitative and/or quantitative impact studies;

  • Identifying business opportunities, preparing client proposals and provide input to the overall business planning as well as build relationships and network with clients and internally across PwC;

  • Working with different professionals and departments in order to arrive at an optimum result for our clients; and

  • Supervising and coaching your team members to ensure that they are able to continue developing both professionally and personally.

Does this describe you?
You are a passionate specialist with a (technical) background in identifying, understanding and managing risk. You have at least a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience as a professional in a financial institution or consultancy firm or meet the following requirements:

  • You have a Master’s degree in Law, Economics, (quantitative) Finance, business administration or a comparable field;

  • You possess relevant working experience in the financial services sector or consulting, gained in the field of enterprise risk management, financial risk management, or balance sheet management;

  • You possess knowledge, understanding and experience of CRD IV/CRR, ECB guidelines, EBA/Basel standards or other regulatory topics (e.g. regulatory reporting, financial risk management – or broader enterprise risk management topics such as ICAAP, ILAAP or recovery & resolution planning);

  • You play an international role, working in a dynamic, demanding environment and flexibility to travel accordingly are naturally for you;

  • You work well under pressure and are committed to meet deadlines;

  • You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Dutch is not a requirement but preferred;

  • You are a team player and would like to be part of a team with different (cultural) backgrounds; and

  • You also possess strong project management, leadership and communication skills equally as a pragmatic, proactive and solutions-oriented attitude.
