Quality and Compliance Officer

GXO attaches great importance to 'Quality, Environment, Safety and Health' or QESH. To further strengthen the team and to properly support the expansions within GXO, we are looking for a full-time Compliance Officer for our warehouse in Tilburg.

What you do on a typical day

Oversee all aspects of development, implementation, and management of the company compliance and quality management programs, including, but not limited to, the following:

o Implementation of Dutch rules and regulations in Warehouse operation

o International Standards Organization (ISO) standards

  • Develop quality management system that exceeds internal and external customer expectations.
  • Manage regulatory activities in GXO Facility.
  • Train, track, and report on all necessary compliance components for all departments.
  • Create department structure and processes for managing the various aspects of compliance and quality management.
  • Evaluation of business activities to assess for risks.
  • Proactively audit processes, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses and report to Management and respective departments.
  • Hold operations team accountable to KPIs and necessary QESH procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with all dept to ensure proper enforcement of all quality management and compliance procedures.
  • This list of responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as deemed necessary from time to time.

As a professional of the QESH (Quality, Environment, Safety and Health) department, you make an important contribution to implement Customer requirement, regulatory as well as company policy and procedures. In addition, we ask for a proactive contribution to the development, standardization, optimization, and safeguarding of organization-wide business processes. To achieve this, you get a lot of trust, freedom, and personal responsibility. Ownership and initiative are expected of you.

Your tasks include:

  • Define of procedures, rules and guidelines in relation to QESH;
  • Define internal and external audit program and perform audits.
  • Assure that non-conformances as an outcome from Internal and External audits (including client’s audit) regarding Quality Management and regulatory compliances are reported.
  • Demanding corrective and preventive adjustments.
  • Initiate improvements using PDCA cycle.
  • Assist QESH Officer at site about regulatory compliances.

What you need to succeed at GXO

  • Business oriented education (equivalent HBO) extended with QESH related courses.
  • At least 4 years of logistics experience of which at least 2 as a Compliance officer
  • Knowledge about ISO 9001, QMS Lead Auditor accreditation is preferable.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding all QESH related topics that apply in a logistics environment.
  • Good command of the English language, Dutch preferable.
  • You are careful, decisive, customer-friendly, communicatively strong, independent, tenacious, and stress-resistant.
