What will you do?

The Manager Facilities is responsible for the optimal condition of the building, grounds, and timely maintenance of building-bound installations for the locations in Roermond and Maasvlakte. You will also be responsible for the coordination and planning of maintenance and cleaning activities. You have an advisory role regarding investments and supplier selection and are in frequent contact with suppliers, procurement, maintenance, production, and the internal organization.

• Manage the Facilities department;
• Develop a program of requirements for maintenance of the building, grounds, and building-bound installations, and provide input on supplier selection to Procurement;
• Create a building maintenance plan and ensure its execution;
• Determine outsourced maintenance work, maintenance frequency, and establish work instructions as part of the building maintenance plan;
• Negotiate prices with established suppliers for ad-hoc work according to the authorization scheme;
• Check work carried out by third parties;
• Contribute to the annual plan including budget based on required investments, forecasted maintenance costs, and capacity planning, to the Manager Maintenance & Facilities;
• Prepare investment proposals for replacement and renovation work. Create a short-term plan and ensure the necessary resources (possible rental of machines/equipment) for the execution of work;
• Monitor progress, quality, and capacity; • Advise on potential cost reductions and possible renovations;
• Supervise small construction and reorganization projects (not large new construction projects) and monitor planning, budget, progress, and quality.

The Facilities department is responsible for the optimal functioning of machines, installations, and the building for the locations in Roermond and Rotterdam Maasvlakte. The installations for the primary activities are largely maintained in-house and supported by external parties. A high level of knowledge of the installations is required due to the complexity in control and precision of tolerances. The department is also responsible for obtaining and maintaining necessary permits for both locations.

Who are you?

You are continuously focused on identifying improvement opportunities for installations. You ensure the implementation of performance improvements to installations. You perform complex problem analyses and advise, if necessary, on possible solutions and improvements to prevent malfunctions and achieve optimal efficiency, quality, and/or cost reductions. You actively contribute to quality improvement or innovation projects and advise stakeholders about them. You advise on necessary replacements based on a cost-benefit analysis and ensure guidance during replacement projects. Furthermore, you provide input on technological developments and their applicability to the company.

And you bring:

• Bachelor's level, facility management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, technical business administration;
• Knowledge of maintenance concepts, planning methods, business cases, and budgets.
• Knowledge of tendering and project management of facility and civil projects;
• Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding facility installations (such as gas storage, building work);
• Knowledge of the English and German language. What does SIF offer you?
