Position Overview
The Purpose of the Internal Audit Manager role is to ensure audit assignments are successful, run smoothly and result inminimizing risk and exposure for CRH following CRH methodology. The IA Manager leads the audit team on assignment andmanages team members’ performance to deliver on short- and long-term objectives by creating an engaged team, a workenvironment that promotes trust and mutual respect and maximizing team members’ potential. Travel will be a key part of therole, circa 40%, and hybrid working will be accommodated with in a flexible manner in line with local office guidelines.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Deliver and manage assigned elements (planned and ad hoc) of the function’s agenda to ensure objectives areachieved within the required timeframes
  • Deliver/ actively participate in projects (either functional or across a wider CRH remit) in order to achieve defined projectobjectives
  • Manage the delivery of support, advisory and assurance services to the business to ensure the development of arobust control framework across all aspects of the organization
  • Manage the scheduling and deployment of talent across the organization to achieve the annual workplan
  • Support and provide assurance on the roll out of technical standards, relevant legislative requirements,internal policiesand guidance to ensure compliance is achieved across all aspects of the organization
  • Leverage technology to optimise the effectiveness and efficiency of the function
  • Manage on-going relationships with key internal stakeholders to understand pending/ on-going and emerging risks anddevelopments across the business, both in- and outside of the audit process
  • Facilitate training sessions as required to support the understanding of SOX requirements and to embed the roll out ofinternal control developments and initiatives across the business
  • Utilise and develop Data Analytic techniques for audit testing.

Key Functional Competencies
You possess the following:

  • Advanced understanding and working knowledge of risk, governance and internal controls requirements/ good practice
  • Relevant Finance or IT qualification
  • Relevant industry knowledge (building materials, construction, manufacturing)
  • Fluent English (verbal and written)
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Relevant experience of utilising and developing Data Analytic techniques for audit testing.
  • Ability to provide commercially focused recommendations (having consideration for good practice in place elsewhere inthe Group) that allow the business to drive forward
  • In depth knowledge of relevant Group/ Divisional procedures, policies and guidelines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with good conflict management and resolution skills
  • Solid coaching and delegation skills
  • Solid project management skills with an ability to prioritise relevant tasks and network and influence multiplestakeholders

Critical Experiences

  • 5+ year PQE audit/ accounting or equivalent business experience (at manager level or above)
  • Leading large/complex functional projects with a view to improving control and governancestandards
  • Reporting to and working with mid/senior level management on internal control related matters
  • Managing, developing and mentoring a diverse high performing team
  • Participation in a functional/cross-functional/team projects and lead project supporting teams
