The Business Unit Offshore in Business Area Wind is responsible for developing, constructing and operating Offshore wind farms. BU Offshore currently consist of 12 operating windfarms with a total capacity of 2.1GW spread across Europe. We are currently working on the commissioning of two other wind farms for 2.1GW and have a healthy pipeline of future opportunities.

The team of BU & Generation Controlling focusing on finance and business partnering support to the spinning assets we have in Offshore and all the supporting functions enabling the successful operation: from technicians to product development, from warehouses to end of life strategies – the team is there for the business.

Overall purpose of the role:

We are now looking for a Senior Business Controller to work within the Generation Controlling team focusing on supporting our Operations fleet across Europe. While reporting to Head of BU & Generation Controlling the role will be primarily working with the Operations MT and other controllers acting as a business partner, facilitating performance management, supporting decision making and guiding the work of others. You will be part of the Operations Management Team and will be working with colleagues from the relevant Generation Business – including commercial, asset management, operational excellence and others. There is broad scope of and you will have plenty of opportunity to learn and explore different capabilities.

As part of the Offshore controlling team you will have your direct team colleagues in Amsterdam (NL), Berlin (GE), Kolding (DK) and London (UK). Regular travel will be required.

Responsibilities & Tasks

The following main tasks are in the responsibility of the Senior Business Controller:

  • Support the operations MT and regional heads with shared topics;
  • Deliver FP&A for Operations, including running the BP process and continuous improvement of performance management;
  • Engage in relevant topics and governance processes as input provider, validator and signee (Projects Steerco);
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and act as finance representative for relevant Strategic projects;
  • Guide the work and shared topics of Site/regional controllers;
  • Collaborate with asset management on Full Lifecycle Value and asset management system;
  • Collaborate with concepts and costing on the process and input for business cases;
  • Act as a representative for operational assets towards shared finance support teams.

Location

The role is open to applications for all our locations; Amsterdam, Kolding, Berlin and London with a preference for Amsterdam.

Qualifications


Who are you?

Our ideal candidate is on an advanced stage of the professional career in finance. You are pro-active and structured and eager to learn and are good at communicating in an international environment.

Furthermore you bring:

  • Bachelor degree (or similar experience based level) in a relevant field i.e. controlling, economics, accounting or finance;
  • Good knowledge of all Microsoft suite

The following experience will help you to get up and running quickly:

  • You have experience of 7+ years in a finance role including business partnering;
  • You have been previously responsible for organizing and delivering planning and control cycles and performance management for entire business segments;
  • You have been a true business partner, steering the business and actively advising in key decisions;
  • You are able to problem-solve, find root causes and create stories out of financial data;
  • Previous SAP and PBI experience is beneficial;
  • Previous experience in Wind or Energy is beneficial.
