As part of our dynamic, intercultural team of over 25 commercial, logistic, and financial experts, you will be at the forefront of the ethanol trading industry, contributing to Nedstar’s success in over 50 markets worldwide. We foster an environment where your personal growth aligns with our company's development and encourage our employees to go the extra mile not only for our customers, but also for themselves.

This pivotal role demands swift adaptation to our rapid growth, managing substantial financial figures, and embracing expansive responsibilities. Join us, and you'll often find challenges that push the boundaries of your capabilities because our growth is rapid.

Throughout the past few years, Nedstar has diligently enhanced its financial processes, transitioning to advanced accounting systems and achieving a seamless ERP integration supported with state-of-the art reporting tools. The significance of this role is underscored by our desire to maximise the potential of these advancements. While our overarching visions are well-established, this role provides a remarkable opportunity to shape and personalise your contributions within this framework.

Your profile

In the heart of Nedstar's financial operations, we envision our Finance Manager not just as a guiding figure but as a hands-on leader. You'll be instrumental in steering our finance team, aiding each member to identify and refine their unique strengths. While collaboration remains at our core, we expect you to dive into the nitty-gritty, working alongside the team, not merely overseeing from afar. With your experience in project-based management, you'll bring efficiency to our workflows, ensuring tasks are on track and goals met. And while teamwork is key, your ability to take decisive actions in crucial moments will be vital. We're seeking someone who is:

  • Entrepreneurial and commercially inclined.
  • Team player with strong organisational awareness.
  • Ability to deal with details and work with different cultures and personalities.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is a significant advantage. Knowledge of French, German, or Portuguese is a plus.

What we are looking for

  • Master's or equivalent degree in management or economics. RC or RA is considered a plus.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience, especially in B2B, commodity trading, import/export, and distribution.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with an understanding of Dutch GAAP, tax regulations, and import levies.
  • Experience with foreign exchange risk management, liquidity forecasting, and other related areas.
  • Are you ready to join a company that values sustainability, innovation, and growth? Apply now to be a part of the Nedstar journey.
  • Being part of a close-knit team of 25, the ability to not only manage but also work hands-on, almost like a collaborative foreman, is crucial at Nedstar.
  • A self-starter with a keen understanding of the topics that most influence our marketing outcomes.
  • Proactive, collaborative, self-critical and always seeking to improve. Possessing a growth mindset, which is one of our 5 core values.
  • Empathetic management, effective communication, and team collaboration skills, along with a solid ability for creative problem-solving and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent skills in managing relationships with stakeholders.
  • A quintessential NedSTAR - resilient, adaptable, and a spirited go-getter.

What is in it for you?

At Nedstar, rapid growth is more than just a metric—it's our ethos. Stepping into the role of Finance Manager, you'll be at the forefront, shaping our financial department to meet the pace of our expansion. What's the learning curve? Armed with your finance expertise, you'll quickly grasp the full scope of our operations. Handling significant financial decisions will be routine, and with our global expansion - including ventures like our Dubai office - the role brings multifaceted challenges. But rest assured, while some days might stretch your capabilities, they will also offer the chance to push boundaries and grow in ways you hadn't imagined.

  • Nedstar is experiencing rapid growth, giving you the unique opportunity to be involved in all areas and learn extensively. In collaboration with our seasoned CFO, you'll receive a significant delegation, paving the way for your accelerated growth.
  • You will have lots of autonomy and the sky is the limit: if you have a good idea, there is a high chance you can execute it. We also have the resources to do so.
  • Nedstar is a multilingual, multi-national, global player: you will deal with lots of different markets: Europe, Africa, Asia, North/South America.
  • We're committed to nurturing your talents, providing ample room for growth and continuous learning. This includes paid language classes, training courses, and a personalised coaching program.
  • Competitive salary package with a bonus based on both your performance and the company's performance.
  • Open, friendly, fun-loving company culture with experienced, enthusiastic colleagues happy to support you.
  • Regular fun social activities, including boat trips (we bought a boat last year for after work downtime) and amazing annual company trips (last year in Italy).
  • Delicious and healthy free office lunches. A beautiful, centuries-old canal house offices on the Herengracht in the heart of Amsterdam.
  • Flexibility in your work hours. So, if you like going for a run during office hours, we encourage you to do so. Because we believe your well-being is paramount if you’re to thrive and be at your best at work.
