Junior Business Controller (32-40h/week)

Do you enjoy understanding what is behind the financial numbers, and draw insights from data? Would you like to use your analytical skills to build reports that contribute to strategic decision-making?

We are looking for an energetic Junior Business Controller that helps delivering valuable reports that provide insights into the business. As a Junior Business Controller, you will support the financial planning and analysis activities of our European organization. You will contribute to the budget and forecast process of the operational expenses. Also, you will assist in analyzing and reporting the financial performance of all European entities and the entire European organization. By analyzing and discussing the financials, you will provide insights in the key business drivers and possibilities for improvements.

The Junior Business Controller is part of the multicultural Business Control & Planning team, which consists of ten team members, two of whom are Business Controllers. You will report to the Director of Business Control & Planning and work at Applied Medical’s European headquarters in Amersfoort (NL).

Within Applied this position has the internal job title of Associate Business Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support in the monthly financial reporting activities, including P&L analysis, profitability analysis, country reporting and manufacturing cost analysis
  • Assist in the financial planning, budget, and forecasting
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financials for management reports
  • Interpret data to determine financial performance, identify risks and opportunities
  • Make ad-hoc financial analyses and calculations to support decision making in Sales, Supply Chain, Production, and more
  • Validate and approve the calculation of fees and bonusses
  • Support the further development of business controlling and the advancement of the financial reporting
  • Maintain close relationships with the budget owners and grow into the business partnering role

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Economics, Finance, or similar
  • Additional Qualified Controller background is an advantage
  • At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis in an international environment
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel, ERP (SAP preferred), SAP BPC (or similar)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
