Accounting Officer

This is what you do

This role is based in Arnhem and manages the Accounts Payable processes for our locations in the Netherlands and Germany. You will support cash flow planning, carry out payment processing, and conduct organized bookkeeping. You have a direct line of contact with the Finance Director for North Europe and other organizational leadership, external creditors, and the international Olmix Finance Department. You are the first layer of the Finance Administration, with a direct impact on ensuring efficient and accurate financial administration. You pride yourself in being detail oriented, thorough, and proactive. In this role, you have a high degree of autonomy to carry out your tasks and improve processes, but also the support of a connected and expert team.

Responsibilities

  • Processes financial data in the financial administration (declarations, invoices, bookings, credit card bookings)
  • Controls daily processing of financial and bank details
  • Checks reconciliation between accounts (general ledger) and the sub administrations (debtors, creditors and assets) and reports any identified differences
  • Initiate invoices in their approval flow
  • Makes purchase invoices payable, checks payments to creditors
  • Compiling periodic overviews for business use
  • Provides VAT & CBS returns
  • Complete monthly closings at the beginning of each month
  • Organize ICO statements each month
  • Handle day-to-day business and questions from colleagues
  • Enter purchase invoices
  • Update purchase invoices after month end
  • Complete a budget forecast in September/October each year
  • Archiving completed documents
  • Weekly cash forecasts

This is what you need

Experience

  • Medium level degree (MBO+), completed education/training in the field(s) of accounting, finance, finance administration, business administration, or related.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in an international work environment.
  • Good verbal and written command of English language
  • Good verbal and written command of Dutch language (would be an advantage)
  • Working knowledge of Excel
