Your responsibilities

This is a combi function between Financial Controller (60%) and Sustainability improvements (40%) . As member of the Group Financial Control department within Group Finance and reports to the Head of Financial Control Team, you ensure that the overall VI P&L and balance sheet provides a true and fair view of its financial position and of the results of its operations (without material misstatements) according to law and regulations (IFRS, J-SOX etc.) and make sure that VI is reporting accordingly to our stakeholders.

As Group Financial Controller & Sustainability, you:

  • Execute financial control at group level and advise the legal entities on IFRS standards;
  • Co-ordinate and prepare external financial reporting according to the monthly timelines and ensure high quality reporting; Optimize and bring efficiency;
  • Maintain and own the Vanderlande accounting manual;
  • Support complex accounting & reporting items;
  • Address audit questions;
  • Are involved in several improvement projects;
  • Translate the VI strategic Sustainability goals into a Finance strategy, roadmap and targets;
  • Support the stakeholders, by giving (un)solicited advise in the Sustainability Reporting domain;
  • Subject matter expert in Sustainability Reporting;
  • Initiate and participate in Sustainability programs with the continuous improvement mindset.

Your qualifications and skills:

If you’re an experienced, enthusiastic and skilled Group Financial Controller & Reporting, you will excel at:

  • Continuously improve and have the everyday better mentality;
  • Compliance mindset;
  • Accurate and able to act under pressure;
  • A team player attitude with focus on delivering high quality output;
  • Acting as a knowledgeable Sustainability Reporting expert for the businesses and functions.

You should bring:

  • Master degree (Business Administration, Economics, Accountancy); RA is a pré;
  • Excellent knowledge of the reporting standard IFRS (must);
  • 6-8 years of relevant financial reporting experience in an international corporate environment or audit firm;
  • An excellent command of the English language (both verbal and written);
  • Dutch or other languages would be advantageous;
  • Analytic tool skills (JDE, Cognos, Hyperion etc).
