The Role

As Senior Associate Intercompany Accountant you are responsible for global management of Genmab’s intercompany accounting activities – transaction processing, reconciliations, and special projects. The role will have primary oversight of intercompany balances in the individual country statutory financial statements. You will report to the Manager Intercompany Accounting and will work closely with the Tax and Financial Planning & Analysis teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare intercompany journal entries, and maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation including revenue and expense allocations, intercompany interest and expense charges, intercompany debt, and equity transactions, etc.

  • Assist in the preparation of intercompany billing and invoices.

  • Ensure intercompany transactions and balances are monthly reconciled and eliminate in consolidation.

  • Assist with all kinds of calculations to ensure revenues and expenses are allocated to the correct legal entity, and that allocation methodologies are documented, adequately supported with data analysis, and agreed upon by Tax and Finance.

  • Assist with writing policies and procedures, including internal control documentation.

  • Ensure accounting policies are implemented and are being followed to ensure SOX compliance.

  • Develop an understanding and become responsible for the Dutch monthly statistics reporting.

  • Identify and participate in process improvement projects as needed.

Requirements

  • A mbo or hbo (bachelor) degree in e.g. Accountancy, Business Administration, Economics or comparable.

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, including public accounting in a multinational company or accounting firm.

  • Previous experience with intercompany accounting processes is a plus.

  • Working experience with SAP is a plus.

  • Solid experience working with complex calculations in Excel is a must.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Tax, Legal, FP&A and Accounting teams across multiple geographic locations.

  • Internal control knowledge and experience is preferred.

  • Good analytic skills and a keen attention to detail. 

  • Ability to review account reconciliations and identify potential issues.

  • Interest and experience with process descriptions is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

  • Ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities, to achieve desired outcomes. Comfortable in ambiguous situations.

  • Good business acumen, with strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
