Legal Risk Control Partner

As Legal Risk Control Partner, you are responsible for facilitating and supporting the performance of risk identification, assessment and mitigation activities within the Legal department. You also act as a change agent and a functional leader on legal risk management, working across domains and areas to enhance operational performance and compliance.

You collaborate with the subject matter experts in the Legal department, the 2nd line Risk Management functions and the 3rd line Risk Management function (Internal Audit) to effectively implement all aspects of the Risk Control Framework within Legal. You also perform various other Risk related roles such as the PDM Coordinator and Business Continuity Coordinator for Legal and the RCP for Rabo Herverzekeringsmaatschappij (RHM).

Practical examples

  • Assist risk & control owners to identify and manage operational aspects of the unit by providing training, knowledge and experience;
  • Coordinate Legal’s risk control activities and incidents/findings management to ensure alignment with requirements and accuracy and develop appropriate reporting and monitoring;
  • Act as senior consultant for management and second-line risk management.

Top 3 responsibilities

  • Liaise, coordinate and work with the 2nd line Risk Management functions and 3rd line Risk Management function (Internal Audit) to effectively implement all aspects of the RCF within Legal, including facilitating the attestation and In Control Sign off by risk (& control) owners to demonstrate Legal’s compliance with applicable regulations and internal requirements;
  • As Legal Risk Library Owner, provide guidance to all business units to assess their library legal risks and controls and assist 2nd Line Risk Management functions to challenge all business units on (library) legal risks and controls;
  • As change agent, support management and staff to continuously improve their operations, by incorporating and implementing the requirements of the RCF – and lesson’s learned – into Legal’s day-to-day business activities.

What we offer you

  • A gross base salary between € 4.848,64 € 6.926,62 (scale 10) a month depending on experience;
  • Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance;
  • An extra budget of 11% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out;
  • Personal budget of € 1.400,- to spend on activities related to your personal development and career;
  • €750,- budget to set up your home workplace and up to € 40.00 for working from home allowance per month;
  • 100% reimbursement of commuting costs if you travel by public transport;
  • Permanent contract;
  • A combination of working from home and at the office.
