About the role:

The Production Manager is responsible for all manufacturing processes and management of the Production Department, including safety awareness. This position also supports VES implementation through Standard Work, the Problem-Solving Process and Kaizen event suggestions and participation. The successful Production Manager will enjoy being hands-on in the plant environment around majority of the time.

The position has been posted in several locations for marketing purposes but just one role is available. This position is a fully on-site position in Nederland, TX working 1st shift hours with some overtime and Saturdays as business needs require.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide managerial oversite to the production team
  • Champion employee development and associate engagement
  • Own Production KPI daily management, continual improvement, and problem solving efforts
  • Assist with cycle counting and Inventory Control Process Management
  • Act as Onsite Emergency Coordinator and Liaison to Emergency Response Providers (Fire, Medical and Environmental Agencies)
  • Assist in the development of the annual operations budget; identifying capital and facility maintenance costs; and identifying/implementing cost minimization practices
  • Ensure compliance with SOP; improve employee job skills; provide specialized training and seminars
  • Enforce policy; maintain documentation; and ensure compliance with EMS (ISO14001), HSMS, and QMS (ISO 9001), work with Compliance Conformance Manager and associated staff

Are you qualified?
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or relevant experience in lieu of degree required
  • 2-5 years of Industrial Management/Supervisory experience required
  • Demonstrated experience with lean manufacturing, quality management systems (QMS), and environmental management systems (EMS) required
  • Previous experience with inventory management
  • 29 CFR OSHA; 49 CFR DOT; IATA Certified ideal
