Job Description

What you get to do in this role:

  • Assess revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606
  • Serve as the technical accounting subject matter expert with the assigned region
  • Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, Legal and Sales Operations during the contract negotiation process by analyzing the impact of contract terms, communicating the revenue impact, and offering alternative structures
  • Liaise with team members acrossmultiple offices and other partners(Finance,Legal, IT, and Sales Ops) while monitoring relevant USGAAP and SEC developmentsto ensure revenuerecognition procedures comply
  • Implement controls and evaluate actions requiredfor compliance with the ServiceNow revenue recognitionaccounting process, including the bookings andbillings process
  • Complete required month-end close activitiesincluding revenue reconciliation and managementreporting
  • Support process improvementsandimplementation of revenue reportingto furtherrefine revenue tasks and shorten revenueclosecycle
  • Document reviews following ASC 606 accounting standards
  • Provision and creation of training on revenuerecognition rules and policies topartners (Sales, Deal Desk, Legal and SalesOps)andanyother departments
Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA)
  • 5+ years of experience with abackground in a Big 4 public accounting firm preferred.
  • Active CPA designation and industryaccounting experience preferable
  • Prior SaaS, software or hardwareindustryrevenue recognitionexperience is preferable
  • Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented self-starter with both drive and ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and able to simplify complex issues for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret complex commercial transactions and propose alternatives in line with company requirements
  • Dynamic team player with great interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
  • Prior Experience applying ASC 606/ IFRS 15 as it relates to SaaS or softwarecompanies (or experience with EITF00-21) and working knowledge of all othercurrent literature related torevenue recognition a plus
  • Experience with MS Officesoftware including Excel, Word, andPowerPoint
  • Experience with SAP is preferred
