CFO

Our client, the Chrysal Group , is a medium-sized multinational company based in The Netherlands, operating as a subsidiary of a prominent Japanese corporation, OAT Agrio Co., Ltd.

The Chrysal Group is actively engaged in the global floriculture industry developing, producing & delivering products, as well as technical advice to our customers worldwide. The company has production locations in The Netherlands, Kenya, Colombia and Ecuador and main logistic hubs in the USA and Japan. The companies’ customers range from breeders, growers, bouquet makers, florists, supermarkets, and consumers via off- and online sales. As we navigate the dynamic landscape of global business, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced:

Chief Financial Officer

to join the leadership team and take responsibility over the financial dimension of Chrysal.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Financial Reporting and Auditing:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting compliant with the regulations of the Nikkei stock exchange, banks, and other external institutions.
  • End responsible for the budget and forecasting processes of the Chrysal Group.
  • Ensure accurate and timely Management reporting to the Management Team of the Chrysal Group as well as OAT Agrio Co..
  • Oversee quarterly auditing processes, including adherence to Dutch GAAP, Japanese Sarbanes Oxley, European CSRD, and other relevant regulations (e.g. IFRS).
  • Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to ensure compliance and transparency.

2. ERP Implementation and IT Oversight:

  • Lead the transition to a cloud-based ERP environment.
  • Drive IT strategy and implementation, ensuring seamless integration with financial and other systems with a high sense of security.
  • Work closely with IT teams to optimize technology solutions in alignment with business objectives.

3. Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with relevant international regulations.
  • Drive and monitor Transfer Pricing policies throughout the Chrysal Group to minimize any tax exposure.
  • Review and monitor cash flow forecasting and financing of the Chrysal Group.
  • Mitigate financial risks through proactive identification and strategic planning and sustaining a sound internal control.
  • Stay informed about changes in financial and regulatory landscapes that may impact the company and communicate these to the relevant people.

4. Strategic Advisory Role:

  • Act as a key advisor to the CEO and management team on financial matters.
  • Provide insights into potential risks and opportunities to drive informed decision-making.
  • Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives.

5. Team Development and Leadership:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the international finance, ICT and Internal Audit team.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports, facilitating their personal & professional development.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration across the international finance, ICT and Internal control department.
  • Promote collaboration of the international finance, ICT and Internal Control team with other departments and between local teams at subsidiaries.

6. International Collaboration:

  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in an international context.
  • Navigate diverse backgrounds and cultures within the company and the larger Japanese organization.

7. Communication Skills:

  • Active communicator and a “hands on” mentality.
  • Communicate (financial information) effectively to individuals at all levels of the organization and external parties such as banks and legal counsel.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

8. Management Team Participation:

  • Contribute as an integral part of the management team, actively participating in decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with other functional leaders to drive overall business success.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior finance role within an international company.
  • Strong understanding of Dutch GAAP and IFRS, Japanese Sarbanes Oxley, European CSRD, and other relevant regulations.
  • Experience in overseeing ERP implementation, particularly in a cloud-based environment and other relevant project leading experience in finance digital transformation.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Process enhancing, improvement- and change-management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure.
  • Customer oriented mindset with stakeholder engagement skills
  • Effective communication skills with proficiency in English & Dutch; knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
  • Background in advising senior management and contributing to strategic decision-making
