Legal Counsel, Debt transactions  
36-40 hours per week, initially for 1 year, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Job description

As Legal Counsel you will join the Legal Transactions Team that currently consists of 8 other members and one Manager. As Legal Counsel you will be responsible for the legal investment and divestment processes relating to investments made by Triple Jump on behalf of its mandates. This entails supporting investments through all stages of the transaction process and monitoring the portfolio, specifically: review of and legal advice on internal proposals, the preparation, review and negotiation of transaction documentation, and overall process management. The role will primarily be focused on debt transactions, including legal administration of the funds and mandates themselves. It includes the coordination of external legal counsel and collaboration with counsel of co-investors.

We expect you to be aware of developments in the legal and regulatory environment. You will closely cooperate with our commercial teams and support functions. The position is based in Amsterdam and requires limited travel to countries where Triple Jump is active. 

• A law degree, preferably in Dutch law;
• Experience (> 4 years) in reviewing, negotiating and managing debt transactions (experience with energy related investment deals is a plus);
• Detailed knowledge of contract investment law, preferably through working at an international law firm or financial institution;
• Experience with managing external counsel;
• Demonstrated independent decision-making, with a proactive, “hands-on” approach;
• Team player;
• Good negotiation skills;
• Strategic mindset;
• An affinity with Triple Jump’s mission and vision;
• A sense of humor, an awareness for cultural sensitivities in an international and diverse work environment, and a curiosity for relevant regulatory developments;
• Fluency in English, good knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, or French also considered an advantage.
