We are currently recruiting for an ALM Specialist for our Treasury Division in Amsterdam.

The MBE subsidiary based in The Netherlands is a network of branches (Germany Branch (Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich), Spain Branch (Madrid, Barcelona), Belgium Branch (Brussels), Austria Branch (Vienna)), managed from Amsterdam.

You will manage inter-bank dealing, especially for money markets and manage cash balances, liquidity, integrate rate risks, exposure to MUFG, etc. in order to meet regulatory as well as MUFG requirements. Amsterdam ALM Department covers entire MBE funding and liquidity. ALM department is also responsible for quoting loan and depo IS rate to business lines to accommodate liquidity needs arising from customer businesses. It is also important for ALM Department to liaise with LDN under a governance of MUBK Treasury.

The function forms part of MBE Treasury Division, which is responsible for the management and control of the foreign currency and money market trading positions, the relationships with customers and bank counterparties with which MBE undertakes treasury business, and the resultant cash flows in order to make profit and to maintain the good name MBE enjoys in the market.

The Dealer reports to the Head of ALM Department or to the Head of the Treasury Division in his absence.

The role includes the following:

  • Accurate customer treasury business execution and process relevant business administration.
  • Dealing with customers, branches, interbank and offices of the MUFG Bank group.
  • Take/mitigate various risks within delegated limits and at the same time achieve PL target.
  • Ensure external transactions are within the Bank's stated credit limits for counterparties.
  • To be fully aware of the risk weighting factors used on MBE’s risk management metrics to take these factors into consideration during day to day liquidity managements.
  • Understand FTP rule and I/S rate rule to provide business lines and corporate customers to facilitate the funding of the Bank's lending/depo activities.
  • Assist and help in controlling the daily cashflow movements on MBE’s Nostro accounts in order to make efficient use of funds, preventing overly excess balances.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank’s rules, policies, procedures and guidelines together with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.

In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:

Skills and experience:

  • HBO/WO degree or equivalent
  • Experience in preferably but not limited to a similar function or relevant area.
  • Knowledge of general Banking/Treasury business and the (intra-) departmental work flows and processes, of the products offered by our Front Office and of the applicable internal and external regulations. 
  • Understanding and knowledge of Financial Markets and Treasury Products: FX, MM and Fixed Income.
  • Knowledge and understanding/experience of/with the bank's credit and market risk business, policies, rules and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of and experience with database and Excel spread sheets and basic IT skills.
  • MS office skills and verbal written communication skills in English are essential. Dutch, Japanese and other language speaker are also appreciated.
