THE ROLE

We are seeking a seasoned Head of Finance & Control (Interim) to manage the finance function including: daily management of all financial and administrative affairs, financial planning and control, modeling, budgeting, internal control and reporting. The ideal candidate has expertise in both Dutch GAAP and US GAAP and is knowledgeable in IFRS. Reporting into the CFO, this role also involves managing the 3 people finance team.

YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY

• Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with both Dutch GAAP and US GAAP

  • Interpreting and implementing relevant accounting standards from both jurisdictions to ensure organizational compliance

• Financial Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Conducting financial analysis considering both Dutch and US GAAP principles, identifying trends, deviations, and potential areas of concern or improvement

  • Providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making by senior management, considering the impact under both accounting frameworks

• Internal Controls and Auditing:

  • Developing and maintaining robust internal control framework to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data

  • Coordinating with auditors to facilitate annual audits, addressing any audit findings and ensuring compliance

• Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Overseeing the budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning financial plans

  • Analyze budget variances considering both sets of GAAP principles and provide recommendations for financial improvements

• Cash Management and Treasury:

  • Managing cash flow and overseeing treasury functions

  • Monitoring financial transactions to ensure compliance with the cash management principles of Dutch and US GAAP

• Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Identifying financial risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them, ensuring adherence to risk management processes under both Dutch and US GAAP

• Team Management:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
    

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business administration or a related field

• 6-8 years experience in financial controlling in an international company

• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting

• Strong understanding of both Dutch and US GAAP standards and their practical application

• Knowledgeable in IFRS

• Knowledgable in MS Dynamics

• Experience dealing with tax filings in NL and US

• Experience in team management and demonstrated leadership skills

• You are already based in the Netherlands, within commuting distance to Amsterdam

• Treasury management experience is nice to have
