Job Description:

What will you do?

As an Application Manager Payments, you are responsible for an adequate, functional and stable IT environment for customers/employees of the bank.

  • You manage all systems that fall under your care. You do this from a complete end-to-end perspective with all relevant stakeholders (internal and external) in the payment/operations chain.

  • You coach and guide your team colleagues, coordinate and plan activities and actively support the Agile way of working in the team.

  • You guarantee the quality and continuity of your own IT business services by primarily preventing incidents and, secondarily, resolving the incidents as quickly and effectively as possible. Sometimes this requires work outside business hours.

  • You look forward, at Life Cycle Management as well as continuously improving our landscape.

  • You are (partly) responsible for -or participate in- the relevant IT changes/projects as well as for the final acceptance of these changes/projects on your IT systems.

  • You communicate with your business clients about content or incidents, about problems and changes. You make IT transparent for them.

Your team

As Application Manager you are part of the Corporate Banking and Treasury IT (CBT-IT) Department. This department is responsible for end-to-end IT support and development of applications for our corporate asset classes. CBT-IT is also responsible for our Payments applications of all NIBC asset classes and our Treasury applications. Our way of working is based on Agile Scrum and Kanban.

Within this team you will work in the Payments IT Team; we are responsible for the continuity of the payments/operations processes within the bank. We make sure all payment streams run flawless and prevent issues or solve them quick. And we continuously improve our IT-landscape by innovation-projects and changes. Our landscape consists, amongst others, of a Payment Hub, SWIFT and a Reconciliation application.

The CBT-IT Department is a multidisciplinary team in which several competences are present. The team consists of different ages, nationalities and backgrounds. We strive for an informal, collegial and inclusive atmosphere where respect, trust and appreciation are core values.

What do you bring?

You are the linking pin between Business and IT. You add value by your experience and knowledge within our area. You have strong communication skills, are creative, entrepreneurial, emphatic and you know how to work together with different disciplines. You are not afraid to ask questions and you understand that technology is about people. In our area we work a lot with external vendors and external employees, it is important you know how to spread your knowledge:

  • You operate on an HBO/WO level – with focus on IT, preferably with a technical background.

  • You know the SWIFT components/landscape in and out.

  • You have affinity and knowledge of payment and reconciliation processes within and outside a bank.

  • You have at least 5-10 years relevant work experience on managing information systems in the payments process and payment hubs/factories.

  • You are experienced in working in an Agile environment (Kanban / Scrum)

  • You drive improvements and provide ideas for new developments.

  • You love to solve incidents and make sure they don’t happen again.

  • You keep cool in stressful times.

  • You are capable of coaching and helping colleagues on behavior as well as content.

  • Preferred Dutch speaking, but at least Fluent in English, having experience with the Dutch culture.
