R&D Project Officer


As an essential member of Trouw Nutrition's Research and Development Team, the R&D Project Officer is responsible for leading strategic initiatives, overseeing projects, and promoting collaboration within the organization. This role reports directly to the TN R&D Quality Assurance and HSE Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Research and Development Management Team (R&D MT) to develop and manage strategic initiatives encompassing sustainability, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), operations, administration, and grants.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams in planning, executing, and overseeing internal R&D projects.
  • Work with the R&D MT to develop and implement sustainability initiatives, including energy-saving plans and the integration of sustainable technologies.
  • With the project team, prepare and execute the Dairy Facility Project, including renovation, facility design, equipment procurement, and project reporting.
  • Collaborate with R&D HSE Leads to implement health, safety, and environmental initiatives, including the Nutreco Safe Harbour Project and Life Saving Rules program.
  • Work closely with grants consultancy partners to organize and migrate grants information for reporting purposes.
  • Facilitate data collection and reporting for subsidized projects in partnership with grants consultancy partners.
  • Coordinate with the R&D MT to establish an automated administrative system for tracking project resource allocation.

Candidate Profile:

  • Master's degree in animal nutrition research or related field.
  • Experience in project management, preferably in applied research settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills with a proactive approach.
  • Excellent project management skills with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in finance, data analysis, and computer systems.
  • Effective communication skills in English (proficiency in Dutch and Spanish is a plus).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-functional team with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Power Platform.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%).
