Analyst - Consultant | M&A starter position(s)

The team

The department, part of a Big-5 consultancy , has specialists in the field of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Capital & Debt Advisory. In M&A, the work consists of end-to-end M&A services , supervising sales processes and acquisitions, management buy-outs and joint ventures. At Debt Advisory, our client advise s on and supervise s financing solutions, whether or not in combination with an acquisition. The team focuses on multinationals, entrepreneurs, family businesses and private equity funds.

The challenge
With this client, you will work closely with its client s and other advisors, so you enable clients to make well-informed decisions. You will act as a trusted advisor and sounding board for the customer, with the aim of unburdening the customer in the entire acquisition and/or financing process. As a consultant, you will initially work on projects for both M&A and Debt Advisory, after which you can specialize in one of the two directions. You are an integral part of the project team from day one and have direct contact with customers, advisors and colleagues inside and outside the team.

What are you going to do?

• Identifying, evaluating, and approaching potential buyers, sellers, and/or financiers
• Determining the value and/or financing needs of a company by modelling future cash flows
• Giving advice on how to position the company attractively and convincingly
• Drafting a memorandum that the company presents to potential buyers and/or financiers
• Presenting (financial) analyses to the client and external parties
• Direct contact with customers, banks, direct lenders and other advisors
• Facilitation of the due diligence investigation
• Assist in negotiating transaction documentation
• Collaborate with colleagues from other departments in order to be able to provide integral advice to the customer
• You are involved up to and including closing the deal!

What is our client looking for ?

• You are in the final phase or have just graduated from your WO Master study in Finance, Strategic Management, Economics, Econometrics or another related Financial-Economic direction, or a technical study. Start date in consultation.
• Demonstrable experience and affinity with mergers and acquisitions and the financial world in a broad sense, in the form of an internship or working studentship.
• Analytical skills, strong independent thinking skills and good command of the Dutch and English language
• Good organizational skills, the ability to work independently as well as in a team, a proactive attitude and a good sense of humor
• Above-average experience with PowerPoint and Excel. In addition, you are willing and enthusiastic to follow the training to become a CFA Charterholder
