We are currently seeking a GL Accountant (m/f/x) (Dutch&English) in Amsterdam Our client is one of the fastest-growing logistics companies in North America and Europe.

Your Role

Our client has undergone significant transformation over the last several years, due to its explosive growth. A General Ledger Accountant is a new role and responsible for support and assistance in the accounting department including accounting, AP, AR, GL, reconciliations and ad hoc requests. Attention to detail plays a critical aspect in this role.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Record financial transactions in NetSuite Accounting Software
• Prepare journal entries and month-end reconciliations, including Intercompany reconciliations
• Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Prepare and submit tax-filing in compliance with local legislation
• Assist with external and internal audits and other financial reviews
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Monitor Travel and Entertainment expenses; collection of receipts, review of concur, audit of all transactions
• Review of GL activity for accuracy of department/coding
• Ad hoc accounting projects
• AP and AR requests when needed, along with cutting and mailing checks
• Participation in Finance department projects and contribution to the improvement of financial processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• System knowledge of NetSuite or large ERP is a plus

• Evidence of problem solving and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to proficiently use various Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel
• Evidence of being detail-oriented with a strong ability to think and communicate strategically
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player and ability to be flexible, adaptable, and accommodating to employees at all levels
• Fluent (C1/C2) in Dutch, both written and spoken, is required

Offer

• Salary indication: 55-65K
