Facility Supervisor

We are looking for a Facility Supervisor in our new and fully automated site in Heerlen, Netherlands, where you will be responsible for handling all daily facilities management issues assuring compliance with safety and security laws as well as coordinating and overseeing maintenance activities on a site.

What you do on a typical day

  • Responsible for leading or supervising maintenance department or staff at site/ campus level.
  • Review workload and assign tasks to employees.
  • Professionally train and evaluate employee performance; recommend or initiate hiring, promotions, transfers or disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee processes to ensure maintenance activities are completed accurately and on-time.
  • Properly maintain, inspect, and safely repair machines, equipment, and warehouse facilities.
  • Measure work performance, compare results to objectives, take corrective actions.
  • Correctly maintain and generate required reports.
  • ▪ Establish, maintain, and promote exceptional customer service
  • Correctly interpret and enforce company policies and safety procedures to ensure compliance. ▪ Consciously dealing with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water and fuel consumption

What do you need to succeed at GXO

  • Minimum Required Education: Intermediate Vocational Education in maintenance or equivalent.
  • Minimum Required Experience: 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in Dutch and English.
  • LEAN Warehousing.
  • Knowledge of machines, equipment, warehouse facilities, and maintenance and repair methods and procedures.
  • Experience in handling multiple projects and tight timelines.
  • Vendor interaction and relations experience.
  • Knowledgeable skills of carpentry, painting, and plastering.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and vehicle servicing.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of effective customer service.
  • Safety orientated
