Cloud Success Services (CSS) is the Adoption, Support and Consulting organization of SAP. Architects have a pivotal role within the CSS organization and there are 400+ Architects across all regions and provides SAP Architecture services to SAP customers. The mission of CSS Architects is to support our customers in their IT-enabled business transformations across the entire life cycle (i.e. from the value identification, through change implementation to the business benefit realization phase) CSS Architects should have a good understanding of industry core and supporting processes, SAP centric application architectures, delivery of large scale IT transformations and Enterprise Architecture.


We are looking for a customer facing and execution focused manager to lead the Architect Team of around 18 consultants within SAP Netherlands Market Unit. A successful manager has a clear understanding of SAP’s strategy, current priorities and strategic aspirations and transforms them into actionable plans. You will work together with 6 other CSS team managers as part of the CSS Management Team (MT) that is responsible for leading the CSS teams and achieving the CSS targets within the Netherlands. The MT has a strong emphasis on customer success with a focus on contributing to the P&L (revenue and margin) whilst maintaining employee trust, diversity and engagement.



Key Responsibilities


As member of the CSS Management Team , you:

  • Shape the CSS strategy and communicate a clear vision of the future . Discuss, explain and actively promote the vision within own team, to peers and customers
  • Active support in Delivery Engagements including Steercos and Design Authorities with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Enable the integration and cooperation with other SAP teams (“active networking”)
  • Financial Management Reporting based on Utilization, Forecast, and Budgeting
  • Active support in Sales cycles and bid proposals
  • Responsible for managing internal projects
  • Manage escalations when required at customers
  • Act as a role model for the team , show authentic behaviour, pride and enthusiasm in their own job, and encourage team members to share own experiences, celebrate success, promote SAP as a great place to work.

As team manager , you:

  • Set goals and empower accountability in your team: derive clear and challenging targets, set priorities, encourage people to take ownership, be there when necessary to make decisions, to backup or to help refocus
  • Coordinate project staffing and resource allocation in close collaboration with peers
  • Motivate through inspiration and mobilize teams : create an inspiring working environment, establish an atmosphere for discussions, seek for feedback and call for people's opinions
  • Actively establish relationships characterized by mutual respect and trust: stimulate individuals to broaden and make use of their network, respect different opinions, diverse cultures and values, work to overcome organizational boundaries and silo thinking, encourage knowledge sharing
  • Encourage people to continuously question the status quo and activate their creative and innovative skills: stimulate individuals to think outside established solutions and processes, invite the team to learn from everything, accept failing investments, think and act lean
  • Coach people on their individual development and career opportunities: support team members and mentees in development planning and fulfilment, act as coach and guide for individuals to find their right career track, turn active if individuals are passive on their development
  • Support knowledge sharing initiatives (i.e. Community of Practices, Mentoring, Education)
  • Identify relevant IT and business trends and develop the team skills accordingly.



Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Proven track record of working experience in SAP Architectureand/or IT management consulting in both project delivery and consulting management positions (>10 years)
  • Experience in leading SAP implementation projects of significant size and complexity
  • Understand the dynamics in Enterprise Architecture practices and articulate the importance of change management
  • Knowledge of the SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework (EAF) or TOGAF
  • Track record of generating consulting business incl. business development, demand generation
  • Knowledge of SAP Finance and Office of the CFO is beneficial.
  • Experience managing a team
  • Business level Dutch and English : Fluent
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Personal characteristics and skills we are looking for :

  • A keen interest in innovative topics, a natural curiosity, and the capability to translate those into a continuous service portfolio innovation process.
  • Thorough in-depth understanding of the latest trends in information technology, in particular regarding Native-Cloud mindset and SAP developments and their relevance for our customer’s business.
  • Solid understanding of the interdependencies between the business and IT aspects of major transformation programs to achieve value for our customers from their investment in transformation.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills in intercultural contexts with proactive networking attributes.
  • Excellent customer and quality focus, results-driven attitude.
  • Very good communications/presentation skills (oral and written).

Location: This role is based in the Netherlands and we are not able to consider candidates which require a relocation.
