NIBC is looking for a Business Partner Retail Banking, a newly created position in the Performance Analytics & Planning team.

Job Description:

What will you do?

As our new Business Partner Retail Banking you will be responsible for analysing the performance, forecasting the performance of Retail Banking and come with pro-active advise to improve and steer the performance. This will be done by challenging the businesses, delivering added value analysis and also support the business where needed to give insight to actually improve the performance. You will provide all financial analysis for strategic decisions, capital allocation and M&A and you will be a sparring partner for the MT Retail Banking including the international activities in Belgium and Germany. NIBC Retail Banking excels in mortgage lending and savings products across The Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, priding ourselves on simplicity and transparency to optimally serve our clients. More in detail the activities will be:
  • Single point of contact (SPOC) for all finance related topics for the Business and coordination within the rest of the finance organization
  • Challenge performance of the business in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Develop and monitor key performance indicators to assess business on commercial performance. This includes monthly performance analysis. Identify areas that require improvement and recommending actions
  • Provide insight into product performance (risk, return and impact) and support the business to steer on continuous improvement
  • Analyze and draft reports on the cost allocation and cost management of the business (cost management)
  • Provide advice during decision-making processes of the Business by providing financial insights, scenario analysis and risk assessments. Topics might be: strategic investments, value creation and business opportunities and support on portfolio management
  • Support on forecasting related topics specific for the Business (e.g., spread analysis and forecast)
  • Support during the budgeting process for their respective Business
  • Provide ad hoc reporting for the business (once the ad hoc reporting becomes standardized, this type of report moves to the Management Reporting team)

What do you bring?

You are a seasoned professional with:
  • experience in the financial industry (9+ years of work experience)
  • master degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting
  • in-depth knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including financial analysis, budgeting and cost management
  • proficiency in data analysis and the ability to extract valuable insights from financial data
  • effective communication and the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner
  • understanding of the mortgages market and the specific dynamics,the specific challenges and opportunities that the Retail Banking faces
  • familiarity with financial reporting and the ability to prepare and interpret financial reports
  • the ability to align financial strategies with the broader business objectives and provide insights that drive strategic decision-making
  • capability to perform scenario analysis, considering various possible outcomes and their financial implication
  • expertise in assessing and managing financial risks to support informed decision-making
  • strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work closely with the Business and various teams within the finance organization
  • proficiency in budgeting and forecasting techniques, including conducting spread analysis
  • flexibility to adapt to changing business needs to provide timely support for ad hoc requestsunderstanding of the industry, market dynamics and the specific challenges and opportunities that the NIBC business faces
  • fluent in Dutch and English
