Our main products, for the Simulation & Test Market are Motion Systems for creating the illusion of actual flight/drive, Control Loading Systems providing advanced force feedback on the pilot’s controls inside a simulator and Aerospace & Automotive Test Systems for material, structural and system testing. What do we ask from you?

Being part of an experienced team, the system engineer develops hydraulic and/or mechatronic systems that comply with customer/market requirements. The systems team is part of a larger engineering group with different engineering disciplines making it possible to develop together challenging and exiting systems.

The system engineer is already involved during the sales phase of future projects and recommends the customer on the best solution for their needs. These recommendations are based on experience, modeling theories and are presented to the customer using concepts.

Besides customer specific projects the system engineer will work in development projects to develop new hydraulic or mechatronic products for a market needs. Often developments are also part of customer projects.

During these projects, the system engineer will work out the concept to a working hydraulic or mechatronic system. He / She will make sure the system complies with (CE) directives and standards and customer requirements. The system engineer uses and improves engineering models to select the right components and uses other methods like Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) to support the design of the system. Requirement management is applied to document customer needs via available tooling.

When de product development is completed (including necessary documentation) it will be handed over to product engineering.

Next to the technical role, the system engineer brings together other disciplines (mechanical, software, electronics) to ensure work of these disciplines is aligned and will result in an optimal system for the customer and market.

The system will be built up here locally in the Moog factory and the customer will witness the performance during the factory acceptance tests. The system will be delivered to the customer with all required documentation and a site acceptance test will be performed. This way of working provides a really great learning environment getting to know the results of the development process very quickly.

The system engineer can use the worldwide network from Moog to exchange technical knowledge and experiences. The candidate is expected to proactively search for new technologies and innovative solutions. The job requires creativity and inventiveness. Knowledge in the field of system engineering is needed to fulfill this role.

The systems are installed all over the world at various customer sites and Moog facilities, so travelling up to 20% of total working time is possible.

What skills and experience do we like you to have:

Primary skills:

· Master’s degree in Aeronautical, Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

· At least 3-5 years of relevant experience

· Theoretical and practical knowledge of mechatronic systems

· Working independent as lead engineer in customer and development projects

· Good modelling skills using tools like Matlab /Simulink

· Capable to translate customer requirements into system design

· Creative thinking, good analytical skills, good planning skills, good social skills

· Good communication skills in English language

Secondary skills:

· Knowledge of applicable directives (CE) and process is preferred.

· Experience with professional requirement management is preferred.

· Aerospace and/or Automotive testing experience is preferred.

· Practical experience in Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) is preferred.

· Dutch and German language is preferred.

Reporting line:

The candidate will report directly to the Manager System Engineering.
