The Roles - Senior Project Controller & Project Controller

We are looking for exceptional talent to join the organisation and be involved in projects that are iconic, high value and high-profile projects and will have significant impact on the distribution of energy to the growing population.

We are looking to appoint a Senior Project Controller and a Project Controller. Based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, these roles will require you to attend the office for a number of days each week. Relocation will be a consideration for the ideal candidate.

Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for all financial and commercial matters and actively driving the project’s performance and could be assigned to multiple medium-sized projects or to large multi-million-dollar value mega project.

Duties will include:

• Tendering stage reviews and taking joint responsibility with Tender Manager on financial, commercial and tax aspects.
• Ensuring that tender calculation is done correctly, preparing cash-flow and exposure/S-curve.
• Preparing a Project Financial Execution Plan which will cover all financial, commercial and tax aspects.
• Have responsibility for the correctness of project balance sheet and income statement as well as for cash flow and monthly or quarterly forecast.
• Participating in opportunity or risk identification and ensure that you implement actions in a timely manner.
• Driving, coordinating, and preparing monthly project reviews jointly with the Project Director/Manager and review all financial aspects of the project including estimate at completion and related cost-to-complete, forecasted Revenues and Cash Flow.
• Conduct regular risks assessments and ensuring alignment with other functions including planning or scheduling.
• Continuously drive and promote commercial awareness in the project team and providing commercial input to the project execution plan.
• Driving claim management, back-charges and insurance cases and work with the Contract Manager or Project Director/Manager on required actions.
• Monitor internal project audit reports and ensuring timely implementation of all required actions related to projects.
• Ensure the timely filing of financial/tax reports of the project.
• For the Senior Project Controller, you will supervise and oversee the functions of the Project Controllers, (this will be dictated by the size and complexity of the project).

Your background

• A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related area.
• A professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA will be advantageous.
• Experience of working on large major EPC projects with a high dollar value.
• Industry sectors/background considerations include Renewable Energy, OEM, Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure, Rail.
• Experience of working in large Transmission & Distribution projects will be highly advantageous.
• Senior Project Controller - a minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in a Project Controlling role.
• Project Controller -we are open to considering applications from post-qualified candidates with 1-2 years' experience in Project Control who see themselves as 'Rising Stars' and keen to join a career changing pathway working on iconic projects.
• Work experience in related area such as business controlling, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, or similar will be advantageous.
• Hands- experience of using SAP and MS Excel.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is essential. Dutch, French and German speaking will be advantageous.
