Murex IT Engineer – Financial Markets

The Financial Markets grid provides access to the financial markets with a wide range of custom-made services and solutions for risk management, capital market products, investment products and financing products. Our clients are institutional investors, multinationals, private banking clients and ABN AMRO’s own ALM Treasury department.

Your job

You will be part of a multidisciplinary DevOps team, consisting of IT Engineers focused on Back Office and collateral Murex streams. You will contribute to both change and run activities.

Quality is our DNA. You will ensure delivering change functionalities with high quality. You will also step-in whenever production support for BO and collateral is needed, in order to ensure business continuity.

Your tasks will cover :

  • Provide production support for Back Office and Collateral streams
  • Refine, investigate and design Murex solutions to the business requirements.
  • Develop, test and release new Murex changes dealing with BO, interfaces and collateral modules.
  • Contribute to ongoing Murex projects and to minor changes implementation
  • Contribute to upskilling Murex knowledge within the team

Working environment

Your working environment will consist of a DevOps team (6-9 persons) responsible for analysis, design, development, testing and support Murex BO and Collateral related topics. You will follow a combination of DevOps and agile way of working. You will work in a hybrid mode between office and home.

Your profile

You recognize yourself in the following profile:


General background:

  • Bachelor or master degree in computer science or a related information technology field
  • DevOps experience


Must have Murex experience:

  • Considerable years of Murex experience dealing with Back office and/or collateral
  • At least 3 years of experience as Murex product support specialist in BO and collateral
  • Excellent hands-on and understanding of Murex workflows, OSP and collateral


Trade life cycle and processing experience:

  • Masters the trade life cycle and related functional BO processes
  • Familiarity with collateral processing
  • Experience with confirmations, matching manager and deliverables processing


Data skills

  • In-depth skills in XSL, XSLT, data dictionary formulas
  • Good understanding of Murex Datamart module and advanced SQL skills


Soft skills:

  • DevOps mindset
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player and flexible
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
