Main purpose of the role

An exciting new opportunity has emerged for a Head of Transaction Banking EU/EEA to join Transaction Banking Department, based in Amsterdam.

  • Lead EU/EEA TB team and attract, develop and grow new transaction banking business from large corporates.
  • Be responsible for MUFG’s coverage of Transaction Banking in EU/EEA region, Switzerland and Russia
  • Provide our capability of Cash and Trade to the bank complete client base including JC, GC, FIs, outbound & inbound.
  • Manage both Cash and Trade specialist in this team and engage team members and stakeholders across MUFG franchise.

The role includes the following:

  • Be responsible for coverage of Transaction Banking clients
  • Review and refine the existing strategy in MUFG
  • Define and implement the strategy for Transaction Banking business
  • Engage and coordinate with key stakeholders across the MUFG franchise
  • Participate in budget definition and planning
  • Responsible for delivering Financial Target for Transaction Banking clients in respective region
  • Monitor delivery of approved business plans, budgets and results in order to meet agreed targets
  • Improve profitability (NOP, RORA) of the Transaction Banking client portfolio ensuring optimal use of capital to match customers’ needs.
  • Coordinate and drive Account Planning process for clients to ensure that cross sell is effectively achieved and monitored

  • Ensure appropriate governance and organization relevant to Transaction Banking
  • Make the organization efficient and proactive

Leadership

  • Attract, retain and develop a team to enhance the existing regional Transaction Banking talent resource to realize the strategy
  • Develop and promote Transaction Banking business as a centre of excellence and attract people from inside and outside.
  • As a core member in ETBO, support and drive growth of transaction banking business in EMEA, aiming at delivering a well-diversified product portfolio to clients, co-work closely other teams in ETBO

In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:

Skills and experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree and relevant industry experience in similar field
  • P/L responsibility and decision making for cross border, cross products and cross clients
  • Strong experience in corporate sales and marketing is essential
  • Strong experience in promoting transaction banking products for both cash and trade is essential
  • Good network of key decision makers and influencers within target clients is a must
  • Deep knowledge of Global Cash and Liquidity as well as Trade Finance market, competitors, products, regulation, client portfolio
  • Excellent knowledge in transaction banking services across EMEA
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements such as Basel, MiFID2 , PSD2, OFAC, FATCA, etc.
  • Deep understanding of Financial Institution sector with a comprehensive skillset in Cash and Trade, Working Capital
  • Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Able to complete multiple tasks independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage deadlines and production scheduling
  • Proven ability to manage relationships internally and externally
  • Organized and ensure accuracy in an effective time management
  • Senior leadership and networking skills
  • Confident, professional manners and ability to represent the bank with senior clients and senior members within MUFG
  • Excellent command of English and Japanese

  • Gross salary based on experience and consistent with the market
  • 8% holiday allowance and 13th month payment.
