SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER (GLOBAL)

Supply chain managers are crucial to the global economy and their organizations. They represent a unique discipline responsible for supporting a global network that produces and delivers products from raw materials to end customers, which ultimately impacts a company’s bottom line. Working among many departments, supply chain managers engage in the design, planning, execution, control and supervision of supply chain activities with the objectives of creating value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand and measuring performance globally.

The position:

Are you an experienced, knowledgeable senior supply chain professional with a passion for the food industry? Our innovative family company is seeking a driven, result- and people oriented Global Supply Chain Manager with a broad interest and demonstrable management experience, excelling in Planning, Logistics, Procurement and also in Customer Service. It will be your responsibility to lead and manage the global supply chain department in all aspects to ensure a professional, efficient and well-performing team. The department acts as the spin in the web and connects all stakeholders to secure the best service to our customers. You manage to carefully balance this with our capabilities in operations throughout the world. You will further develop and strengthen the supply chain processes which are to be aligned with customer needs. This will be done and driven by you through the implementation and adaption of IBP and S&OP-cycle throughout the organization. You will actively contribute to not only the development of new strategies for planning, logistics, warehousing and procurement but also to the execution of these plans and implementation of change in the organization. Furthermore, it will be your task to lead the customer service team and to help ensure collaborative solutions are developed to further address customer needs. The added twist to this role and GNT is that we manage the entire value chain and thus also manage the agri-supply chain downstream in collaboration with ‘our’ farmers. We work purely with natural ingredients which means that this can also create challenges in our overall process where the Supply Chain manager has to play an important role.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the following teams: Operations Office, Sales & Customer Service, Procurement en Logistics.
  • Develop and implement global supply chain strategies for procurement, warehousing, logistics & S&OP. Where you need to define the long term strategy for these departments in line with the company strategy.
  • Build a strong and efficient organization, coach team members where needed to get the best out of them and the team.
  • Optimize planning, logistics, and procurement processes true operational excellence and implementation of IBP and the S&OP process throughout the organization to ensure continuous improvement of supply chain performance.
  • Build strong relationships with sales, marketing, product management and finance to optimize the end-to-end value chain.
  • Optimize the global supply chain performance by balancing the triangle of cost, service and cash.
  • Sense and respond to global supply chain developments and manage mitigation of disruptions, leveraging support of an international team.
  • Inventory management & optimization of the inventory globally.
  • You will report to your COO.

General Skills:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in the food industry (food ingredients industry).
  • Proven track record in optimizing end-to-end supply chain processes.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English and preferably German.

  • Strong written and verbal communication. You have to be Able to handle/manage intercultural communication & cultures throughout the world.

Technical Skills:

  • Business systems such as ERP and MRP.
  • IBP and S&OP.
  • Operational and financial metrics.
  • Inventory management.
  • Logistics and distribution.
  • Analytics reports.
