As a Data Domain Steward/Data Consultant you support Schiphol’s business by taking exciting steps to become ever more data-driven, supporting the vision of a truly Autonomous Airport. At Schiphol Group, we have confidence in your talents like managing metadata, data quality measurement & improvement for trustable data within the Data & Analytics department. Your responsibilities include: 




  • Establish and enforce data policies. 
  • Negotiate and implement Data Delivery Agreements for data sources. 
  • Manage metadata and its relationships in the Enterprise Data Catalog and Business Vocabulary. 
  • Monitor data quality, identify critical data elements, and analyze deviations to provide solutions. 
  • Oversee the resolution of data quality issues, coordinate improvement initiatives, and develop methodologies for data management and governance. 
  • Responsible for data awareness & education.

In this role, you should have strong analytical, stakeholder management, organizational sensitivity and communication skills. Other than that, you have: 

  • A background in business information management, data management, governance, data analytics or something similar; 

  • 3 years relevant data experience in role as data steward, consultant, business analyst or data analyst; 

  • Experience in data quality, data (root-cause) analysis, process management, DQ-dimensions, DQ rules, Collibra; 

  • Fluent in English and Dutch; 

  • Certification DAMA DMBOK or DCAM or willing to obtain certification 

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma

About the Team

With the help of data, we can organize our daily processes smarter, more efficiently and more effectively. This journey is not without challenges: the quality and availability of data are critical for success, data issues must be resolved smoothly, and privacy and ethics must be always guaranteed.  As a member of the Data Management & Governance team, you have two roles: 




  • As Data Domain Steward, you are a subject matter expert in one of the Schiphol business unit domains. You take responsibility for metadata curation, data quality requirements, data issue analysis and resolution, and data quality improvement within that business domain together with the business and data quality analyst. You support data owners and data consumers with your knowledge and advice. 
  • As Data Consultant, you contribute to furthering the maturity of the data management & governance including data quality practice at Schiphol, in line with the data strategy and goals. You raise business awareness for these processes and advise on pragmatic solutions
