Maasvlakte II opened in 2015 and remains the world’s most advanced fully automated terminal, equipped to handle the largest container ships way into the future. In 2019, the addition of two Super Quay Cranes and ongoing efficiency, improvements will increase volume capacity by more than 20%.

The use of green energy and fully electrified equipment made it the world’s first zero emission terminal for CO2, NOx and particulate emissions. With fully fenced-off automated areas, separating men and machines, it is also one of the safest. This makes APM Terminals Maasvlakte II one of the most innovative terminals in the world.

About the job position

As Finance Business Partner you support and challenge department managers to improve the quality of the budget-control-cycle and management reporting. You will drive the periodic management and financial reporting, and improve information flow between finance and the department managers. Gathering and consolidating forecasting data and align operational finance and commercial department to ensure competitive contract rates is also a key element of the job, next to ensuring adherence by problem solving, timely and high-quality financial reporting and support managers with quality replacement capex business cases.

As Finance Business Partner, you will support the Senior Finance Business partner and be key responsible for:

Business Partnering: Support and challenge department managers to improve quality of the budget-control-cycle and management reporting.

Reporting: Support periodic management and financial reporting, and improve information flow between finance and the department managers. Improve and sustain timely, accurate and complete record-to-report process.

Prepare monthly finance report such as ML Review, Flash Report and monthly finance call.

Forecasting: Gather and consolidate forecasting data from different internal and external sources. Analyze and interpret the outcome and provide input for challenge sessions.

Drive cross functional performance management by conducting periodic PnL reviews and process confirmations. Continuously lift VM/DM standards in finance to ensure visibility and clarity between key impediments, escalations and corrective action.

Critical Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree/Master’s in Finance or equivalent required

Requires at least 2-5 years of relevant experience (FP&A & Finance Business Partnering).

Requires strong communication skills (including verbal, non-verbal, written and presentation) and active listening skills.

Must have strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with others outside of reporting authority to achieve shared goals

Develops and inspires others to accomplish set goals and encourages high standards of performance. Commands attention and leads by personal example.

Ability to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion

Must be detail oriented, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines

Commercial acumen and excellent relationship and stakeholder management.
