For our client, based in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Financial Controller (m/f/x). The Financial Controller is responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting of the business and internal controls and ensures compliance with accounting standards and with government regulations.

Tasks and responsibilities of the Financial Controller:

• Timely and accurate financial reporting of the business per the various cycles, including the preparation of monthly trial balance, management accounts and 3 statement accounts for purposes of consolidation into the Group accounts; annual statutory reporting and budgeting and reforecasting preparation and variance analysis
• Conduct detailed margin analysis with a clear understanding of the revenue and cost drivers
• Assisting the senior management team with cost control, identifying areas for efficiency and savings
• Implementation of internal control policies, systems and procedures and measuring their subsequent compliance
• Clear understanding of the balance sheet and ensure reconciliations are done on a regular basis
• Development of key tools for financial analysis and control
• Management of the external statutory audit process, including providing timely, complete and accurate information to the Group for them to meet its external and reporting obligations
• Treasury management and cash flow planning in coordination with Group requirements.
• Tax compliance (corporate) and the implementation of tax planning strategies
• Analysis of the impact of changes in accounting standards and/or tax legislation on the business
• Documentation of accounting policies and procedures consistent with the group requirements
• Ensure integrity and appropriate understanding/analysis of business units/reporting entities submissions and overall consolidated figures
• Ensure accurate reporting in a multicurrency environment
• Managing and delivering process improvement around key areas of cash management, order to cash (AR), procure to pay (AP & payments cycle), inventory and Capex
• Supporting the business in various projects - ERP implementation, financial integration of new businesses, streamlining and centralising of finance processes, IFRS transition

Profile

• Bachelor and/or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• CIMA, CGMA, CPA or ACA designation is preferred
• Experience with Big 4 or Medium tier audit firm is highly valued
• IFRS experience is a plus
• 5 or more years professional experience required
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Power BI, Office etc. is a plus)

• Good communicator and relationship builder
• Hands-on and self-driven
