Senior Finance Business Partner

The Company Maasvlakte II opened in 2015 and remains the world’s most advanced fully automated terminal, and equipped to handle the largest container ships way into the future. In 2019, the addition of two Super Quay Cranes and ongoing efficiency improvements will increase volume capacity by more than 20%. The use of green energy and fully electrified equipment made it the world’s first zero emission terminal for CO2, NOx and particulate emissions. With fully fenced-off automated areas, separating men and machines, it is also one of the safest. This makes APM Terminals Maasvlakte II one of the most innovative terminals in the world. The Finance team plays a key role in the strategic processes at MVII. At MVII Finance is a key function, highly valued for contributions to fundamental decisions about the future of our business. We have multiple high profile business cases that we are rolling out, including a super exciting EUR 1bio expansion that requires our expertise. The current situation is highly demanding and requires a go-getter mentality and business acumen. We expect Finance staff to be the enabler for success of the terminal.

More than 500 employees are employed within the organization. About the job position As a Senior Finance Business partner, you will: Lead monthly closure of books happens as per deadlines set up by the organization

Drive financial planning and control are accurate and in line with appropriate standards

End responsible for Business Unit (BU) One Stream reporting is accurate and in line with appropriate standards

Drive balance sheet is reconciled as per group guidelines. Any exposure in balance is properly documented

Be a strategic partner for our CFO

Work closely with the Junior Finance Business partner and actions are delegated accordingly

Proactively participate in engagement calls to mitigate exposures in balance sheet, escalate where necessary and drive closure of open items.

Lead the process of activities done during book close and ensure execution of all activities, where the actions are the responsibility of the Junior Finance Business partner

Drive the full ownership and accountability of regional balance sheet

Lead overall smooth running of the business and day to day operations by delivering consistent and seamless service.

End responsibility to develop performance management framework to accomplish overall organizational requirements of performance delivery.

Capex performance: End responsibility to drive performance through direct follow up with capex budget owners and procurement to increase visibility on “Value of Works “performed. Create intuitive dashboards to feed the Finance visual management system

Critical Qualifications & Experience A degree in Finance and Accounting

and/or in Controlling

, preferably as MBA / M.Sc. / ACCA or similar degree, with strong knowledge in Finance and application of IFRS from reporting to valuation.

7+ years in Finance in an international matrix organization.

Experience as a Business Partner contributing to the overall business direction and the challenges thereof.

Effective analytical skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.

High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

Effective written and verbal communication skills in

Dutch and

English.

Working experience in Transport/Logistics/Inland Services/Container Port Operations is an advantage.

IFRS Knowledge and Capex management experience is a pre
