Executive Director, Advancement Technology and Data Insights/Chief Technology Officer.

The mission of the Auburn University Foundation is to generate increased philanthropic support for Auburn University. The foundation receives gifts made in support of the university; manages the investments of the university’s endowments; and ensures that gift funds are kept separate from state funds and are used consistent with donor intent. Responsible for setting strategy and maintaining the operations of the Auburn Advancement Information Technology team and leading the Auburn University Foundation’s Technology and Data initiatives, this position works directly with leadership to initiate, develop, and apply tech-enabled strategy aligned with Advancement’s priorities for fundraising, engagement, and communications. Additionally, this position ensures data integrity and security throughout the data lifecycle and provides forward-thinking data analysis strategies to support fundraising, communication, and engagement efforts. The successful Executive Director, Advancement Technology and Data Insights and Chief Technology Officer candidate will: Provide organizational leadership on technology and data insights. Serve as a leader of the Advancement IT team, embracing Advancement’s core values of Purpose, Production, Collaboration, and Innovation. Serve as the Chief Information Officer of the Auburn University Foundation, ensuring the Foundation’s comprehensive data ownership policies and practices. Regularly report to the AU Foundation board on any data and technology practices. Collaborate with the Chief Operations Officer and the Chief Financial Officer, prepare budgets related to technology investments, analyze risks to Foundation assets, and participate fully in all AUF board meetings and activities. Serve the Administration and Finance Committee of the AU Foundation on relevant policies. Serve as the technology and data expert for the AU Foundation’s Audit Committee and annual external audit. The preferred candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field and have 10 years of relevant experience in fundraising, non-profits, higher education, or a similar setting. Experience in higher education advancement and/or the non-profit industry, in-depth understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and data analytics, as well as Salesforce and Marketing Cloud is preferred.
