Client description EMPWR is a world leading producer of healthy snacks. It produces bars for global, regional and emerging brands as well as some retailers. It has manufacturing facilities in the Netherlands, Croatia, Canada and the USA. The company has its head office in Ghent, Belgium. EMPWR is a highly innovative and fast-growing business. We are looking for an experienced procurement specialist to lead us in this period of change. Reporting to the President Europe, you will be part of the European Leadership Team and responsible for all procurement activities in Europe, ensuring that the business functions optimally. The procurement team is based in the Netherlands (4fte) and Croatia (5fte), close to our production facilities. Job description Develop, execute and lead the strategy for all European purchasing. Transitioning from a traditional purchasing organisation to strategic procurement, with focus on the establishment of partnerships and a sustainable long-term vision. Lead the development and implementation of the EMPWR European sourcing strategy. Partner with Operations, Quality, Finance, Sales and R&D to understand business needs and deliver maximum business value. Collaborate with colleagues in the USA and Canada to ensure the best sourcing decisions are made across the Group to leverage economies of scale and optimize costs. Understand key cost drivers, industry trends and best practices to create sourcing strategies to allow for constant value creation. Establish supplier performance and contract compliance and ensure action plans are met. Develop and execute a category risk management program to ensure business continuity. Develop your team and their capabilities in line with the strategy. You will report to the President Europe. Profile Masters's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Extensive international procurement leadership experience (10+ years), sourcing, category management, processes and tools designed for change. Preferably in the food industry. Experience as a leader of multiple country procurement teams, in both direct and indirect purchases. Substantial experience in having implemented procurement best practices, innovative methodologies and creating highly effective teams. Act with integrity whilst nurturing strong relationships with our suppliers to get the right goods and services at the right price. Highly effective interpersonal skills. Excellent negotiator with strong communication and influencing skills to all organisational levels and particularly at executive level. Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams based in different locations globally. A team player and a team builder. Proficiency in procurement software and systems (e.g., ERP, e-sourcing platforms) and experience in digitization and automation of processes and performance reporting. Able to prepare for and conclude excellent purchasing and framework agreements, seeking an optimal balance in stock, price and quality ratio. Strong analytical & financial skills. Understand the impact of decisions and market developments and an ability to give a clear financial picture vs budget, risks & opportunities, and action any mitigation plans. Comfortable setting and delivering against bold, stretch targets. Continuous improvement mindset. Excellent language skills.
