Team Lead Credit Risk, Regulatory Requirement Setting

At a glance

We are looking for a team lead for the Credit Risk Requirements Setting team (RST) in ABN AMRO’s Credit Risk Oversight & Strategy (CROS) department. CROS is one of the five departments within the bank’s Credit Risk organization. The main role of the Requirement Setting team is to set bank wide requirements for the implementation of credit risk related regulation. As such, the team is an important stakeholder on all credit risk related projects and activities within the bank. The team comprises 12 FTE’s permanent staff and 9 FTE's temporary staff organized in a separate project area (Credit Risk Forward Project, CRFP) that is being run by a separate project lead but falls under the responsibility of the RST. As such there is a lot of interaction between the CRFP and the RST. Your job

You have the opportunity to lead the Credit Risk Requirements Setting team which sets the requirements for the calculation of the credit risk metrics as well as other Credit Risk Life Cycle topics. You will be in charge of the currently planned transition of replacing the temporary CRFP staff with permanent internal staffing, increasing the size of the team to a planned number of 21 FTE.

You will be leading the team through this transition while continuously focussing on developments in the model landscape, the credit risk strategy and regulatory environment.

The activities of the team rely on strong knowledge of the CRD/CRR/CoRep/FinRep and other areas of related regulation, in particular from the perspective of further specifying the implications of the CRR in precise requirements. The Credit Risk

team is operating in a challenging environment of fast pace developments with a broad stakeholder field. As the team lead, the team will be looking for your guidance and vision on the implementation of the credit risk regulatory requirements across the Credit Risk Life Cycle, the future development of the credit risk regulations and the set-up of the related requirements. You will represent the team in several meeting-cycles with senior management and bank-wide projects. At the same time, you will be organizing the team to become a proactive centre for credit risk requirements setting that provides sufficient countervailing power to other departments. In your discussions with policy experts, the business teams and the IT implementation teams, you will have to find a balance between several interests in the bank that relate to the specific regulatory topics you are working on. The topics the team is working on are defined in work packages, and the way of working is a semi-sprint based approach. Working environment
