Senior Director Quality

Episcopal Health Services, Inc. (EHS), located in Queens, New York, seeks nominations and applications for its Senior Director Quality who is passionate about quality and safety and has high reliability to serve in the role. EHS, the largest employer on the Peninsula, has a dedicated team of more than 400 physicians, over 1,500 employees, and many committed volunteers. St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, the 257-bed acute care facility, is Episcopal Health Services, Inc.’s main campus location. EHS’s Senior Director, Quality is responsible for leading quality at EHS’s ambulatory sites and medical operations. They will provide quality oversight and direction to St. John’s Medical Group’s (SJMG) operations. SJMG currently has 105 physicians and approximately 25 mid-level practitioners, including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Physical Therapists. Reporting to the Vice President, Ambulatory Services and working closely with the EHS’s Vice President, Quality and Patient Safety, the Senior Director Quality is responsible for implementing a vision, strategy, and overall structure that supports EHS’s ambulatory quality and patient safety functions. They will drive performance improvement and will work across EHS’s ambulatory sites, with the St. John’s Medical Group, including Innovative Health Partner’s IPA and build a consistent, high-quality platform that responds to quality and safety events. This leader will partner with facility physicians, nurses, administrators, and staff to implement innovative quality and patient safety programs that promote health equity among EHS’s patient population. The successful candidate will be a healthcare leader with at least five years of experience in progressive healthcare management roles and a minimum of three years of experience in a quality leadership role. A master’s degree in health care or a business-related field is required. EHS’s next Senior Director Quality will be visible, proactive, transparent, decisive, and have a proven track record of building relationships across a diverse group of stakeholders and leaders in a complex health system. The next Senior Director Quality must be able to communicate a vision effectively and build followership based on EHS’s commitment to high-quality, safe, efficient, and innovative care and be committed to closing healthcare disparities in the communities they serves. Expected Salary Range: $220,000 – $240,000 The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range. Compensation takes into account several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by EHS. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package and an annual bonus incentive.
