(Senior) Accounting Specialist

Allianz Direct has partnered with Future in Finance to provide support in the search for a (Senior) Accounting Specialist. At Allianz Direct, our accounting department is responsible for the efficient, accurate, and timely production of Allianz Directs financial information, that produces valuable financial insights for the company and helps to protect its assets. This team is based in Munich. We are looking for an Accounting Specialist in the Netherlands for the Dutch specific tasks. As a (Senior) Accounting Specialist, you will be part of a diverse and experienced team, reporting directly to the local Business Controller. In addition, you will work very closely with the central Allianz Direct accounting team in Munich. You will be responsible for monitoring and executing regional accounting processes and transactions. Furthermore, you will prepare the financial statements according to IFRS17 and Local GAAP and you can also steer smaller projects or process improvement initiatives at a local/global level. Some of your specific responsibilities include: Performing Reporting & Closing activities, e.g. by ensuring that all IFRS, Local GAAP and Statutory closing and reporting tasks (e.g. annual report, reporting to regulatory authorities) are accurate and performed timely on a global basis. Reporting to the tax authorities on IPT, VAT and social security contribution Supporting on the cost accounting process Managing relationships and showing high customer focus in dealing with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. other departments, reinsurers, business units, Group Accounting, auditors, tax authorities, public authorities, etc.) Proactively contributing to projects and process improvement initiatives at a global level. About you Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience within P&C (re-)insurance accounting, financial audit, controlling or a similar financial area Comfortable working both in a team and independently, in an international and dynamic environment You are resolutely customer-focused with the ability to handle complex processes including understanding of data flows Experience as active user of SAP FI is a plus. Proven understanding of standard accounting (IAS/IFRS, Solvency 2 and other local GAAP) in insurance and reinsurance and familiarity with the relevant legislation and standards is a plus.
