Strategic leadership (~20-30% of time): Establish and communicate the product vision and strategy. To achieve this, you constantly assess various internal & external input sources. These inputs help you understand the current situation and accordingly update or review the product strategy. You vocalize the strategy both internally and externally Own the Vision Type: its purpose is to clarify where we are heading in the next two-five years. Own the NextGen Trade Finance program, which is the execution of our vision. Work on the long-term roadmap with stakeholders (primarily Sales, Operations, IT), in collaboration with other Product Owners and Value Proposition Team Drive the Objectives and Key Results process in the value chain Team development (~10-20% of time): You are hierarchically responsible for a Value Proposition Team of 6 business developers. You regularly discuss their personal growth and career plans, do their financial appraisal, setting up the team for success You influence broader performance and team development within the wider Trade Finance value chain, through strategic workforce management in collaboration with Sales, Operations and IT Operational Management & Execution (~40-60% of time): Continuously improve cross-value chain collaboration In conjunction with stakeholders, product owners and business developers, translate product strategy into clear requirements for product development, IT delivery and commercial opportunities End-to-end global Business Process Ownership Ensure data capabilities and ownership to drive performance dialogue over the entire value chain: acquisition, retention, monetization, capital efficiency, operational KPIs Engage in a range of activities aimed at pushing and guiding the most vital projects and initiatives. The Trade Finance franchise is part of the Transaction Services grid and Transaction Banking product unit. We serve businesses ranging from Small &Medium Enterprises up to Corporate & Institutional Clients. We do this by offering products that fall under the umbrella term Trade Finance: Letters of Credit, Guarantees, and Collections. Banks and companies use these products to enable and facilitate local and cross-border trade transactions. Due to the nature of the Trade Finance products there is a relation to many aspects of banking in general, amongst others payments, financing and compliance. Within the Trade Finance franchise, you will work closely with the heads of Trade Sales, Trade Finance Operations, and IT, as well as with two Trade Finance Product Owners. You will be Product Owner of a business oriented Value Proposition Team and an IT delivery teams. The Value Proposition Team consists of 5-7 FTE. Besides your direct teams, there are several Value Delivery Blocks consisting of IT engineers responsible for delivering (centralized) digital capabilities. We have a hybrid way of working with 2 office days in Rotterdam.
