Operations Director Benelux (full time)

Job content:

In this role you are responsible for the design, development, communication, and measurement of efficient and effective operational strategies, processes and services to support short and long-term business strategies. The Operations Director Benelux directly manages the Site Managers of the 4 sites in the Benelux: Oss, Weert in NL and Aalst, Houdeng-Goegnies in BE. Through partnership with the Managing Director and the Movianto Benelux team, the Operations Director optimizes solutions that drive customer satisfaction and maximize profitability of the organization. You establish consistent policies and standard operating procedures across all Movianto Benelux sites and oversees implementation of enterprise-wide solutions for corporate initiatives across all regions. Also assesses operational impacts from new acquisitions or new partnerships and develops plans for integration of operations activities.

In this position you report to the Managing Director BENELUX. The function to be based the Benelux area. This position provides solutions across the Walden and Movianto network in Europe Regular business travel required (up to 70% of the time).

Responsibilities/tasks:

Leading and developing of the operational strategy and leverages field leadership in executing strategic operational plans that effect the distribution and transfer of products and services to customers;

Collaborates with the Managing Director Benelux to evaluate the warehousing, transportation, distribution and logistics functions to identify the most efficient management of company assets, to improve service levels and establish consistent practices and standards;

Develops, interprets and implements policies and procedures on operations methods, processes, equipment and facilities in light of current operational needs and future strategic objectives;

Partners with Quality and Business Solutions Team on operational initiatives;

Collaborates with Managing Director Benelux and Site Managers to improve operational effectiveness through refinement of business processes and implementation of consistent company policies and procedures;

Partners with the Finance team to review and monitor the P & L and seek opportunities to reduce costs and maximize profitability;

Partners with the Commercial team to review sales strategies, development initiatives and growth opportunities to further develop the overall business in the Benelux;

Collaborates with appropriate parties to assess operational impacts of acquisitions or partnerships and develop integration activities;

Partners with the Managing Director Benelux and the Management Team on identifying specific opportunities for improvements to facility design and layout to enhance efficiency, productivity, including automation;

Supports development of innovative solutions expanding the portfolio and reach of the Benelux organization;

Responsible for coaching and developing direct reports and the Operations teams. Identifies opportunities for teammate growth and succession planning in partnership with Human Resources.

Follows all prevention and security measures. Safety of yourself and others should be a priority at all times. Immediately reporting any unsafe situation to the Prevention Advisor or Supervisor;

Contributing to the environmental objectives of the organization and behaving accordingly. Examples of this include limiting the use of paper and printing, participating in energy-saving measures such as sorting waste and turning off lights;

Follows the GDP and GMP guidelines and regulations at all times. Immediately reporting situations in which GDP and GMP are affected to QA.

The following job requirements and skills apply to this position:

Bachelor degree required, preferably in Business Administration / Operations, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.;

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar/relevant, technical and/or managerial role involving warehouse operations, productivity improvement, inventory optimization, logistics and transport, process improvement and teammate development;

Multilingual skills; Dutch & French and English required;

Very strong customer relations skills;

Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong interpersonal and multicultural communication skills;

Very strong planning and organizational skills;

Ability to apply Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies;

Financial analysis/management skills;

Proven ability to develop action plans and follow up to completion;

Understanding of company philosophies and goals;

Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead teammates.
