Regional Merchant Operations Lead, Eats, EMEA

About the Role

Uber Eats is looking to grow the Regional Merchant Operations team in the EMEA HQ in Amsterdam. The mission of the Operations team is simple: make Uber Eats the preferred delivery platform for merchants, couriers and customers in the 13 EMEA markets where we operate. The Merchant team aims to deliver a best-in-class merchant experience and operational efficiencies, to drive merchant selection, retention & growth. As a Regional Merchant Operations Lead, you will be leading a team in identifying operational weaknesses and growth opportunities in the region, digging deep into the data to surface insights that will help us launch, improve, or innovate new processes. The regional team partners with local operations teams to improve efficiency in operations and merchant performance.

---- What You Will Do ----

Lead and manage a fast-paced, dynamic team of talented people working towards building best-in-class merchant (restaurant) experience, alongside our internal and external stakeholders

Set the mission and drive thorough governance for the team, enabling them to achieve ambitious targets for their respective OKRs

Collaborate with a highly cross-functional stakeholder group including Product, Sales, Account Management, Strategy, Finance, Policy/Comms, Legal and Local Operations teams

Oversee the execution of our Merchant Experience strategy at scale, including managing projects and tools geared towards improved merchant performance & quality, optimized lifecycle management, and the enablement of our local Account Manager network

Strong collaboration skills - building deep, trust-based relationships with territory and cross functional teams

Partner closely and communicating effectively with a diverse set of partners in a constantly changing, rapid growth environment with tight deadlines

Deliver on multifaceted, sophisticated projects with many partners, internal and external.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

7+ years of Operations, Analytics, Consulting, or other related experience

1+ years experience as a people manager

Motivated by the mission of Uber Eats. Drive customer experience. Willingness to hustle, roll up sleeves and get in the weeds with merchants on Uber Eats platform

Curiosity and a drive to learn something new each day that you can apply back to your work or your team’s work; you’re constantly looking for opportunities to grow

High-energy and motivational leadership driven by personal influence and example with direct staff, peers, and senior leaders across all company functions

Unparalleled business judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly establish the highest-value priorities and develop a strategy to pursue them

Excellent problem-solving skills and passion for prioritizing and deconstructing sophisticated problems.

Ability to work with large sets of unstructured data and synthesizing into business insights (e.g., using SQL, Excel)
